Hi everyone,

I need something cleared up so I can hassle my dealer if appropriate...

When I put the passenger seat forward to allow someone into the back (the poor dears), the seat always clicks back into the rearmost position possible (making the squeeze even more uncomfortable), rather than returning to the position it had previously been in. Is this normal?

I'm not sure if I've described the problem adequately...if no-one knows what I'm on about please let me know,

Thanks,
Josh ;)

Josh, glad you mentioned it, this particular problem seems to raise its head every now and again on the Forum.

I hadn't taken much notice until recently when I tried getting someone in the back and almost sliced their legs off cos it wouldn't return to the normal seating position without being slid right back into their ankles - very embarassing - bl*&dy Peugeot.

Ni'cc'k, thanks for the fix reminder, I'll try it tomorrow, that is, if it ever stops pe*ing down, I've not had my roof down at all on Sunday

Robbie.

Peugeot seats are renowned for being cr*p. Had problems in my old 206, other family members peugeots and my CC. People have said it is to do with the memory function but I am not convinced.
I just make sure that I move the seat forward on the runners before flipping it forward to let someone in the back.
Also I am not impressed by the way the seat suddenly clicks into place when you brake sharply!

Thanks guys & gals,

I've had it in to the dealer for 4 things yesterday;

1) the seat, apparently it needs a new base frame because the memory thing is broken. That will take at least three weeks to arrive, by which time I'll be in spain,

2) Squeaky brakes, the brake pads were cleaned, the squeak stayed. I had a long argument with the service manager this morning, she insisted 'you just need to get the pads cleaned regularly'. I told her that it was squeaking as I drove away from the dealership, so by that rational regularly would be every bl**dy hour. They are going to put new pads on next week.

3) The oil sensor keeps lying to me. Apparently peugeot is aware of this problem, doesn't yet know how to fix it, but will issue a recall when it figures it out,

4) The plastic clip that holds the carpet down had popped out and got lost. They managed to fit a new one.

One (very easy) job out of four was done. Am I surprised...sadly no.

Thanks to the warranty being Europe-wide, I'll try to get the seat thing done in spain. I'll let you all know if Spanish dealerships are any better

I have the same problem with the oil sensor. My local garage said I should "put some top up the oil .. just incase"
Never mind the fact the the gauge read full and the engine was hot!!

Has anyone else had a problem with the oil sensor?

The oil sensor problem is this...if you park on a slight hill, the sensor thinks you have less oil than you actually do.

My dipstick tells me that my oil is near maximum, but the sensors are telling me to fill it up. Like I say, Peugeot tell me it's a glitch they are working on. It doesn't happen every time I start the car, but often enough to be annoying.

on p93 of the handbook it says that oil should be checked when engine cold and car is level.

i think that's why mine showed a bit lower that time so i didn't worry about it and next time i looked when level it showed being full again.

Yep! It doesn't matter where or how I park it - it keeps coming on almost every time I switch on the engine!!
