Looking at buying a CC this month (or at least ordering it) and when i was given the quote the salesman offered me this special paint pack, it was £199. I was wondering if anyone who has just bought a CC knew anything about it. Is it worth having? and what is so special about it.

it's just a paint protection thingwy - a kind of special coating. i wouldn't bother with it but as there is such a high profit margin on it i would try getting it thrown in free when closing the deal.

Whats the best way to haggle?
So what does it do exactlly?
and what are the differences in packs on is £199 and the other is around £300 - £350

Personally I think the paint on our cc is particularly 'delicate'.
Someone on here once described it as 'As soft as cheese" and I'd have to agree.
I wish I'd gone for diamondbrite when I had the car new, but the salesman didn't suggest it... I don't think I'd have paid £199 for it though.

Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

The £300 one could be Supaguard - which is paint protection on the outside (like the £199 one) and protection inside (a bit like Scotchguard for your sofa or carpet).
Interior wise, it's useful if you've got littlens who are likely to spill milk or juice...I have one of those...as it cleans up pdq and no marks. So if you're a 'McDonalds drive through and eat in in the car fan'..you'll get your mayonnaise off OK!
Haven't got it on the cc..but then have a trained kid now!

Yes it is Supaguard, I dont have any little ones so i think i will just opt for the £199 pack.
What sort of reduction do you think i can get on it though, im not expecting it free as im already getting a employees discount on the car.

We have this stuff at work, we buy for £20 a pack and yes the retail price is £200. It does take 4 hours to prepare the car correctly and add the coating this is where the huge price come in.
However in my experience of it (having had several freebies on my CC) it does not add to the hardness of the paint, it still chips
.
It acts like a good wax polish with lots of beading water (that means getting wet when entering/exiting the car). Also it does help stop bird lime marking the paint if you can't wash it off immediately.
On the downside, it does require you to keep up regular top ups with the aftercare kit supplied and the warranty is not worth the paper its written on. (Unless you wash/polish your car every 2 weeks in front of the dealers so they can see you do it. your claim will not be upheld)
In my opinion regular care with a reputable wax polish is just as good and much cheaper.

Cheers for the advice mate, so the bottom line is dont go for it. But im really worried as alot of people are saying how delicate the paint is on the cc.
So whats the best alternative to toughen up the paint work, realiscally i will be able to wash my car every 7 days but sometimes only every 10 days due to work shifts.
What sort of products should i use, to clean the car?
is there any other paint protection i could put on it that last along time?
Regards
