I would like to get a space saver 15" wheel to keep in the boot - I have had so many punctures in the last 3 weeks I think I need one. The dealers are quoting a high price and seem to know very little about them. Any suggestions would be welcomed ??
- I've tried ebay but there have been no peugeot space savers on there recently.

for the difference in space u would be as well to buy a 15" steel wheel if u have 15s or a 16" ouragan alloy if u have 16's.

if u put it in the boot it takes up a lot of space but people who have one (not me) turn it upside down and you can put things inside the wheel to get quite a lot of the space back again.

My GTi with 16" wheels has a 115/70/15 spare - A lot narrower than a 205 section tyre!

There must be loads of peugeots and Citroens sat in salvage yards with these spare wheels in them.
Will be cheap as well.

I do exactly this and you don't really lose much space. Plus the wheel is a full size CC Nimrod alloy and the roof still opens with no trouble at all. What ever you do don't use the tyre weld it destroys your tyre.
If you get a puncture take off the wheel and get a taxi to the nearest Kwik Fit.

SO when you buy a new 206cc, where is the spare tire exactlly. is it not under the carpet in the boot? or under car like on normal 206.

Im confused, please can someone post a picture.

ok...you don't get a spare wheel in a cc..yes, shock, horror..I went through that too!!!!

Instead, you get a polystyrene box with some spray stuff in...you're meant to be able to squirt it into the tyre or something...and drive for 250 miles according to my dealer..ha, ha...very funny!

Mad idea.. :x

That takes the piss, you pay all that money for a car and dont get a spare wheel, so whats the alternative? do u have to buy this space saver to get a wheel in car? im confused.

You don't get a spare wheel because there's no spare wheel space on a cc.
The space where a spare wheel goes on a normal 206 has got some strengthening metalwork across it to make up for the lack of roof.
Intstead you get 2 tins of tyre weld in a polystyrene box. :yuck:

If you don't think this is enough you can buy a space saver wheel and keep it in the boot, but as the chaps and chapesses on here have said, you might as well buy another alloy.

Personally if I get a puncture in the cc I'd take the wheel off and taxi it to the nearest kwik fit as suggested. If that's not possible I'd call a mobile tyre man. Or if out of town or on the motorway it'd have to be Peugeot Driver Assistance.
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

Thanks for all your replies to my original question about the space saver -
Just one more question - once you use the 'spray stuff ' that Peugeot provide with the car to cope with a puncture can you get the puncture repaired or are you doomed to have to get a replacement tyre whatever the reason for the puncture?
