This is probably going to sound sooo stupid (no comments please bout me being a women driver !!!!!!) but I've been reading so much stuff on here about different problems people have had with their CC's I'm getting paranoid !!!!!!
The thing is that I'm no way a mechanic...I can change a tyre, check oil (just the absolute basics) so how will I know if something isn't quite right with my car ????
I've never owed a Peugeot before so how will I know that the gearbox isn't doing the exact right thing and is or isn't making the right or wrong noise !!!!!! (just an example)
I appreciate that I'll recognise the major issues, like brakes (least I hope I will, and I know my roof is leaking - which is goin in Monday) but how else will I know stuff. I'm certainly not going to get the bonnet up and inspect the engine...wouldn't know what I was looking at.
For example I think the clutch is extremely high on my CC but is this right ??? As I'd never had one before this could be wrong and doing my car damage and I'd never know !!!!! (again an example)
I've always looked after my cars with regular servicing, cleaning, oil changes etc etc (the basics) so I'm trying to do my bit by not neglecting it.
My local garage have been gr8 since I had mine but I almost don't want to trust the guys there cos of what other people have written on here. I'm not going to keep annoying them cos I've read on here that something clunks or makes a squeak and can they check it out !!!!!!!!!
If I read everything on here I'll need to inspect everything and check it against stuff other people have written, when quite obviously there are people on here who know a gr8 deal more about cars than I and possibly other people do.
If this post doesn't make sense then please feel free to ignore me.
I think this site is gr8 but at times has probably made me more paranoid about things going wrong...I'm always waiting for something to happen when there is always a chance I got a good car.....famous last words I know !!!!! (Touch wood)
Surely there's always good and bad cars made by all manufacturers...I've read this morning Jag has got to recall 70'000 cars worldwide cos a gearbox problem, and some of these cars are worth £65K !!!!!!!!
This is by no means a criticism of anyone or anything on here, in fact I'm grateful to have somewhere where I know I could ask any question bout my CC and chances are someone would know the answer.
Anyway someone somewhere might have a clue what I'm wittering on about !!!!!!!
Sorry to have waffled !!!!
What's right or wrong ??!!

Work on the basis that when it starts doing something it hasn't done before, then it's broken.
Ours has a rattle from the roof. It didn't used to have one (a rattle that is, not a roof), therefore it's broken and needs to go back to the dealer.
