I have read on the forum about people applying Silicon grease to seals to prevent them creaking.

People say that it is best to have the roof half up/down and obvioulsy keeping the ignition on.

Will this not damage the roof mechanism as I have been told that most problems with roofs are because people have not let it finish it's cycle?

Am i just being a floppy girls blouse?

I have seen posts about some stuff from Halfords. Do I just put it on with a cloth?

Buzby,

Do you reckon it is worth doing? Did it cure any creaks that you had?

You can get at pretty much all of the roof seals with the roof down (after opening the boot ;) ).

Creaks will disappear for a while but they always came back within a few weeks for me :(

I normally apply something every time I wash my cc. I personally I apply fairy liquid. It does the trick and if you get any on the windows it will wipe clean away with water.

I have done some silly things with my roof, but have not had one failure for the 3 years of ownership (touch wood).

I have stopped it half way to clean. Forgot to pull the latch handle right back, caught the rubber seal in the rear window after changing the rear speakers  . In each incident the roof has alarmed and stopped, but the roof has always recovered. The only thing I always do is to have the engine running whilst operating the roof. Perhaps this is the key?

I was told today by a Peugeot Salesman that the best thing to use was vaseline.

this might seem a silly thing to ask, but which seals are the key ones to do? I assume the top of the windscreen frame, where else? Cheers guys

Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.
