Saw the advert for the first time in ages lastnight and told my sister to shhhh while I watched it.
This is what she said
"It isn't like you haven't seen it before - just look out the window!"
True I know but isn't it weird how we are drawn to stare!

I think we need to go over the point that Rob watched Discovery Home and Leisure for 96 minutes.

Rob, is this a regular thing!

I usually watch all the discovery channels.

I was trying to watch a programme about large radio controlled models. A bloke at work is meant to be on it as he builds them. some are half size (bloody huge).

I have a small tv next to my pc so wasnt neglecting my web duties

Oh no! the ad is back, even worse I've seen the advert on the big screen in the cinema. Quite nice hearing everyone say "thats lovely". I just grin to myself saying yep, I've got one!!.

I love to watch that Discovery channel about radio controlled models too, I used to have 2 model helicopters that I flew at weekends, guess I'm just a big kid at heart.

How about a radio controlled Pug with working roof, now that would be fun.

how did you fly them. I am just trying to learn on a helicopter my friend gave me. Spends most of its time up side down - more like a lawn mower

as for model pugs with working roofs. I have been giving this quitea lot of thought. It is possible to do, just would be quite pricey.

Rob, don't dispair, I haven't flown the helicopters now for several years but it took me 12 months of constant flight each weekend to master free flight.

I started off like most, at the Croyon park near the old aerodrome, gently lifting my Hirobo Shuttle helicopter off the ground in a controlled hover, tie a hoop to the underside, it really does minimise the amount of damage at the start.

From there I found it best to take off some 6 feet up then gently move foreward landing some 12 feet away. Of course once you master that then its a gentle circuit, (and when the heli changes direction I found it best to imagine sitting in it, that way you won't forget which direction to move the joysticks in) and finally a figure of 8. By that time some 12 months had gone by and I had the heli some hundred feet up when it really became exiting.

I got my two heli's from a Bromley radio controlled shop, can't remember the name but their excellent and always willing to help you fix your machine, they also run the Bromley Heli and fixed wing club (needless to say I was at first in the shop all the time and it cost me a small fortune in repairs).

I also suspect that a radio controlled Pug with working roof would gain as many admirers as the real thing.
