Especially sad when I know that today is NOT the last flight. I already have my seat booked to go and see one of its TRUE last flights in a few weeks
Anyone sat watching Concorde? - I have EXTRA flight details

keep us posted when you know more, Rob, I'll go see it if I can get the afternoon off.
My cousin helped build the first one. I have actually been on a Concorde when I was little. It wasnt taking off, but families of the build team were allowed on board to take a look. My dad who was terrified of flying (bless him!) ran from the front door to the back door, couldnt get off fast enough!

and sound, i can still remember as a kid the thumping on me chest as the vulcan did a fly-byI believe that one of the Concordes has been bought by the guys at Bruntingthorpe airfield (the same palce that keeps the last flying Vulcan ever).
When I lived in leics I used to go there quite often to see the Vulcan razz up & down the runway.. awesome sight.

Cool.
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

On the final commercial day, five of BA's seven Concordes were still airworthy. Three of those will be going abroad (Seattle, New York and Bermuda (or is it Barbados?) and the remaining four are staying in the UK (at Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol and Heathrow). The only one that has any prospect of remaining airworthy is the one going to Bristol. However, the likelyhood of it doing so is extremely remote, due to hideous expense it would require. In addition, it would require significantly greater expense on top of that to allow it to keep a passenger license as opposed to a flying license.dont bet on it being the last commercial flight. From what I am hearing via work then there may be more to come.
And where I work they have just a small amout to do with the engines
BA retains ownership of all the aircraft and so there is no prospect of any other commercial airline company trying to take one over.
Personally, I would discount any prospect of it flying again, after it has left Heathrow. (And where I work they have just a small amout to do with flying it.)
Vince.
