I've not posted for some time but it's great to see the site has gone from strength to strengh. I must say well done to Lyndon and all of you who have made this site such a success :D

I have had the unfortune of having some nutter run into the back of my CC. It has been the most reliable car I have owned and the roof has NEVER leaked! I don't know what this is going to do to that. :(

I wondered if anyone else has experienced the same? Have any of you had repairs done by Peugeot and what were they like? It looks like I'm going to need a new boot lid, bumper and both rear wings. Sounds like a nightmare  At what point do they right it off?

As I said, a sad day

Not badly hurt; I'm sure it could have been much worse. Just a bit of whiplash and a few bruises.

No news from local Peugeot dealer so far. I only took it in on Friday morning so I guess it's a bit early to start pushing them. Just waiting for the quotes so my insurance can authorise the repairs.

It's interesting to know though that the other guy was driving a 306 estate on a W plate. His front end was totaly wrecked but my CC drove away (although with it's bum scarred  ) The CC definately came out best.

I'll let you know how I get on...

did someone say whiplash !!!!
quick call claims direct get loads of meony and buy a new CC !!!

not good mate :( Basically when the car is hit if the repairs are over 45% of the value of the car it gets written off .. at least thats the urban myth here

The claim thing is what everyone's been saying. I don't mind if someone wants to give me some money for the injuries and inconvenience.

If they do write it off, I'm definately gonna get another.

Can't beat the feeling on those summer days with the roof off....

Come to think about it, the Winter days are just as good as well!

Bad luck Bri, but you asked so here's my experience and it's not good...

I was side-swiped so needed new passenger door and rear wing. Sounds simple enough but Peugeot made it a nightmare.

It came back needing the front wing re-doing (they'd resprayed over the original paint to make it match the new paint but just made it darker).

The window didn't fit properly so whistled.

The rear wing STUCK OUT near the lights (there's a seam there) by easily 5mm and THEY DENIED IT until I complained "strongly" to the manager and he said, yes they can pull it in. It's better but still not right. Oh and there's a fine dent in it. And a nasty paint run on the sill. And a couple of areas where the paint is actually flaking off! Only tiny, but even so... FYI my damage was put at £2,000.

But to cap it all, worse still was that they didn't give a toss about my car. They scratched my interior where the bottle holder is, obviously when they took it out.

The DRIVER's rear wing (not the side they were working on!) had an 8 inch scratch and...

the driver's door a 1 inch scratch, so deep that even after they "repaired" it I can still see it.

And they scratched the bumper.

So my advice to you is... to get them to do a condition report when they take it in and get them to sign it - cos Peugeot said I did all those scratches to my car and I was FURIOUS and still am!!!!   I argued the toss with them and in the end asked Direct Line to fax them their insurance assessor's report and then they caved in cos that obviously prooved it was OK when I took it in

And get recommendations for Pug dealers in your area - I had a choice of 2 and think I picked the worse one :( Duncan used the other one, I don't know what his opinion was?

Still, they've got us over a barrel. I asked my insurers to use Direct Line cos the roof needed to come off, and look what I got! But one good thing - it still doesn't leak, which was my main worry when it happened!!! :D

Sorry, rant over but if you can avoid this hassle, then I'm glad :) Good luck, Pauline

Err, wow, and, umm, thanks :o

Sorry to hear of your bad experience but I guess if you can prevent it happening to someone else, thats a good thing so thanks for the advice.

There are two cracks in the rear wing. They are at the bottom corner of the rear light cluster nearest the side of the car. (does that make sense?) Is that near to where the seam is? I might not need a couple of rear wings after all if that's the case. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what Mr Peugeot says...
