Yesterday I received on the display the message "Engine Immobiliser Fault" and the vehicle wouldn't start. I left it for a couple of hours and then it started fine.
Is this a portent of problems to come? Vehicle has done 5,000km.
If my car did that I would be concerned whether it would let me down when I am some place away from mobile coverage in the most inconvenient time, I would definately get the to have a token look at it just in case they do get it right the first time once in a while.
Happened to me on a dodgy industrial estate in the middle of leeds. Phone RAC assistance, locked car up but thought Id give it a go 10 minutes later....everything was fine. Hasnt happened since, I was in and out of boot before I tried first time, maybe the imobiloser is active if the car is unlocked, doors not opened and not started for a while, my mates A3 locks doors again??
"Engine Immobiliser Fault" is a common problem. Take the car to the dealer to fix it, they update the software
Mine did it last winter, then the software was updated and after that: no problems.
