OK, so far there have been major power cuts in:
1. USA & Canada
2. London
3. Denmark & Sweden
4. Italy
5. (Iraq, but that one doesn't count ;) )

I'm sure there is something big going on here.
Yeah, I know- sad nutter, but I've been right about this sort of thing before- although I don't have waking dreams or premonitions! (Wish I did!) :D

So I reckon there will be more of these blackouts, whether it's due to terrorist activity, some sort of consultant doing the rounds of developed countries with his/her "I will see if I can turn your power off and you see if you can stop me" gig, subterranean demons that absorb electricty, Alien-technology EMP-guns or some other plausible reason.

Anyway, my guess for the next country to have major power cuts will be Germany.

Why don't we all have a guess and I'll send the winner a candle and a lighter. :D
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

You think things are bad now? Just wait about 5 years...

Civil war in America anyone?

Rise of extreme right-wing Governments in most European countries including GB?

This is the calm before the storm I personally think.

What my mates describe as "Charlie's Doomsday Scenario" includes a compulsory trip to Korea for all males aged 18-45...

Anyway CB, don't hijack the topic (lets have a seperate one on "How the World Will Look in 5 Years" or "To Hell In A Handcart" and make your guess to win a candle now!

And perhaps that's why the power cuts are really happening... ;)

I'm sure the Sun will run out of power sometime, can't remember if it's before or after an asteroid devastates the planet.

Anyway you can get aself powered torch from Argos. Give them a few shakes and you're instant light!. No problem.
:?

Don't they say that there's always a mini-population explosion approx. 9 months after a large power cut?
