I have got my car booked in for monday, peugeot bodyshop in Bristol are doing it. I have a couple of worries though.
1: the guy i spoke to mentioned that they are not happy with the finish on the original bumpers as there are not really meant to be painted!
2: they will only give the bumpers, wingmirrors etc a 6 month warrenty.

What I would like you guys to tell me is:
1: have you had any problems with flaking etc
2: how is the finish on bumpers

and generally any other stuff that might be usefull.

I am getting the rear bumper, front bumper, side strips, wing mirrors and base plates, the top of my chrome mesh bonnet grille and the washer jets.

Thanks for your help

David

They used to say this about the dimpled black bumpers on earlier cars, but cant see a problem with the cc bumpstrips.

How much are replacements if ya worried?

Like Erm says as long as its plastic primed before its sprayed there shouldnt be a problem. It also helps if they remove all the parts that are to be sprayed so they can get a better finish on the paint, as its the edges which normally start to flake away first!!
I had my 206 GTi colour coded before i got the cc, and that started to flake away around the boot on the rear bumper after about 12 months, but the spray job wasnt very good when it was done anyway.
My cc is the '03' model so it came colour coded as standard, so if that starts to flake within the warrenty period ill take it back. If Peugoet are doing it there shouldnt be a problem!! (fingers crossed!! ;) )

the new bumper types are on a waiting list that is backlogged, would probably cost about a 150-200 more - but not sure,

Thanks for your imput, guess I will have to just wait and see, lets hope that the pug boys do it well! is there anything specific I should look to check when I pick it up??

also spoke them today to get them to go through what the process is, they said they would remove, clean, prime, spay etc, so just gotta cross my fingers, toes etc.

Got my side strips, front & back bumpers & Ecosse vents all done by the local Pug bodyshop for £200. The quailty was very good, although there were one or two chips on the bodywork near the bumper where they must have used a screwdriver to ease off the bumpers :(

Mine had the colourcoded bumpers already.
Had my sidemirrors, bonnet vents and washer jets sprayed!
Looks so much better now.

Nice to see you're getting the washerjets spryed too!
Most leave them, but I think it looks way better having them sprayed too!

Hi bought new rubbing strips (so they were smooth) and got them painted. 2 years later and no flaking. Just an arse that i thought i was doing something unique and now the new cc's come colour coded as standard!!!.

Just make sure there is no bubbles when you collect it.

I live in Yate, got my CC from Dandos in Chipping Sodbury. Wouldnt touch Templegate with a bargepole!

What colour is your car? Where are you based?

I live just outside wotton, I was not very impressed with Dandos of Chipping sodbury, maybe they have changed. I bought my cc from the new dealership at Cribbs - they are pretty good - however I have yet to find a dealer who is "worth remembering!" mine is Agean blue, with lowered suspension, 5 spoke alloys, wheel arch extensions etc, and as of tuesday fully colour coded. How about you?

Mine is a black, silver/black special edition. No mods though I have thought about chrome hoops.

I'll look out for you.
