I'm after a digi camcorder too, will probably get the Sony TRV14, new model and costs about the same the Panny. IMO can't go wrong with a sony.
As for Empire direct, what can i say other than don't do it. They aren't the best in terms of delivery, customer services or even having the items in stock!! But i suppose thats not everyones experience but be warned there are a lot of unhappy customers out there. But have to agree they have very good prices
will give the sony one the once over
ah will have to be careful then

It burns film straight to DVD. Also can put about 4000 (yes thousand) pictures on to the DVD

That dvd one looks good, pity its out in October, i'm in the states next month!! Anyway, dunno much about the MiniDV format so, is it like a hard disk on the camera is is there removable media? and how do i connect to the pc, ie do i need a capture card or firewie port or something?

mini-dv comes in cassette form, not sure what's in it but you seem only to get 60mins on each cassette and 90mins in longplay mode

can anyone help me find the MSIâ„¢ 1394 Cable that is shown near the bottom of the page on the link below -

i can get hold of budget firewire cards for about £15 but i'd like to make use of the firewire ports already built into the motherboard
tried all the computer links i've got but no joy,Help

just ordered the panasonic NV-DS65B from empire coz they had a bit of a sale on, so it was only £391.59 plus p+p
we'll see if they're any good or not in few days
