As an outsider on this subject I wouldn't say that anyone was being in a clique. Never met any of you and if I'd have been free I wouldn't mind driving a distance for a get together. It would be nice to put faces to names. From my point of view the fact that some people are mates already makes it a bit difficult, not that anyone is trying to make anyone else feel that way, it's just the same as meeting new people whatever you do, sometimes it can be a bit nerve racking! Everyone has an idea of what people are like until they meet them in the flesh. I suppose some get worried about being a disappointment (including me)!
If there are a group who meet up often then it makes more sense to meet in their area rather than to say "Let's meet in blah blah blah" everyone driving miles and no others aside from them turning up, and I agree with Julia, if you're not from an area you would have no idea where to meet. I know loads of places aqround Nottingham that could be okay but if I had to organise something for a different area then I wouldn't have a clue.
Why get so stressed Erm? It seems to be jealousy more than anything that has your back up. I don't recall seeing a sign saying "We're having a meet but if you're not from the Swindon area you're not invited". Also I think the age gap has nothing to do with anyones response, your posts recently just seem to be full of attitude and no wonder people are getting hacked off with it

Wel said Vanda, see erm its not just me and CB. Cant you see it is your attitude. We don t always meet in Swindon, but if u had people organising a meet on your doorstep would you not go???
If yopu want to arrange a meet then do it and then we can see if the Clique will go. I thought we all got on, so what is the problem.....

As for the fact that its only for local people, i go to the Swindon meets and its a good 30 minute trip sometimes 45 depending on traffic and i know london is onl about an hour down the motorway from swindon so in actual fact people from anywhere round the london area aren't doing much more travelling time than me to get there, also there are a few people from the Reading area and i would consider that to be quite local so maybe its a bit more central and accessable than people seem to think

Ok.....
I think we have worked out that the meetings that go on in Swindon arent just for the people that know each other now.
As Riss said - they were new to a meeting once (just the same as all of us were) and I would hope to think we make all new people welcome.
I will have a think and put some kind of plan together as to what we can do!
Have a good weekend peeps!
