something fallen of the back of a lorry?
If something falls off a lorry & damages my car i can claim off the lorry drivers insurance - i am not, as i driver expected to anticipate that. ;)
When stuff falls off lorries i normally buy it off my dodgy mates ;)

You come round a corner and there is a large tree across the road which has blown down in a storm. You hit it! Who's fault is it?

thats a grey area. if because of your speed you went on to cause damage elsewhere you could be partly to blame and before you could claim fom lorry operator/driver

a you'd have to find them (unlikeley)

and

b prove negligence (more likeley)

I think I more than contribute by paying full 7.5 ton road tax for my horsebox which at the most does 1500 miles a year!
Surely you cant moan at the tax, its the same as for your car, hardly an expense when you can transport your horse safely on the road and avoid idiot drivers (not meaning anyone on here)

My idea on passing a horse seems most reasonable. Drive past slowly so that both horse and rider are aware. If being followed by a Prick in a BMW that has been sat up your arse for the last 10 miles then wait until you are almost past the horse, Honk your horn. The horse will bolt and land on the BMW.

Is it a reasonable sacrifice, 1 horse to rid us of a BMW driver (Burge need no comment as we already know her answer ;) )

thats it blame some non existant diety that can't answer for it's self.

what about the bloody tree........swaying about ......falling into the road not a care or consideration for us poor humans.

If you saw a human( let's call him Trev)...........one friday night swaying about and falling into he road. Would you blame god? no. Trev would be pissed and so obviously was the tree. It,s the trees fault

I say ban all trees and large deciduous shrubs from the road

Rob,

Sacrifice 1 horse for only 1 BMW driver!! No contest. Now if it were all BMW drivers that's a different thing!

Burge

P.S. Tax on a Private HGV (ie 7.5 tonner) is a little more now than car tax. About 15 or 20 quid or therabouts. Mind you if it had been a couple of years older it would have been exempt. Bugger!

Burge, I thought the duty on your horse transporter was £165.00 the same as your car ??

As a private HGV owner you could have an articulated horse box with living accomodation and space to transport your CC and still only pay £165.00 duty on it :)
