I have noticed a few posts before regarding the Radio losing its memory on the presets and I experienced the same problem. My dealer said that I just needed a new radio so they order a new one from France. After 2 days of fitting the new one it happened again. I was a bit annoyed so I took my car back and the engineer explained the problem:
The radio is made by Clarion and the software in the car for the radio is Siemens. The problem is that the 2 are not working together as they should and as it is known a problem on the 206 Clarion have updated their software ... but when the dealer sends off for a new radio it is not guaranteed whether they get a new version. They said they have people on their 6th radio !!!
I think it is stupid but what can you do .. I'm getting my 3rd on Monday ... fingers crossed.

Mine is the same, dealer said that Peugeot had not identified a solution to the problem as yet. A colleague has a new 307 has the same problem, his goes in next week to have a new radio fitted, apparently some have been recently released which have cured this issue. My dealer said that I just needed a new radio so they order a new one from France.

I always listen to CD's anyhow, but it's a new car, and it should work as designed to my mind. Plus when it comes to selling it there could be a problem if you come to trade in and it's well known by thenMine is the same but to be honest it's not really a big deal for me so I won't bother going to the dealer with it, probably more hassle than it is worth!

Got the new radio on Monday and guess what...yep it is still losing memory again. Went back to the dealer just now and they said that the makers Clarion have come up with a solution that should fix it, so you will hopefully be pleased (if it works). They said you need to keep the radio on the RDS function at all times - this should solve the problem (fingures crossed).
Window problems now re not closing properly and interior light fuse keeps blowing ... booked in for 22 July - hopefully last time.

I fear that could be a load of bollocks not to mention an admission that the radio is not of merchanble quality.
Our radio is always on RDS and we still have a problem with Locally broadcast stations. When you go out of range the radio retunes to the next nearest station it also take the preset with it so the preset is now tunes this other station permantly....

You are so true Duncan - aload of crap. It is still losing its memory. It seems that when you are listening to the CD and switch of the engine, the next time you turn the car on and switch back to the radio from the CD that last station you listened to has reset back to the lowest frequency available.
Has anyone had this problem and what was your experience with it - did it get fixed, any upgraded radios, etc - I want to get this fixed soon. Surely this is a simple thing - should I contact Clarion (radio) or Peugeot head office? Any advices please...
The radio is important to me - I am sure it is for everyone

Friend has a 306 and has just been back to WW Chiswick for a new head unit which he says has fixed the problem. Do manufacturers issue recalls for non-safety related problems or will it be down to individual owners to deal with?Has anyone had this problem and what was your experience with it
Bristol St. Waltham Cross told me they knew of the problem but a fix had not been passed to them by Pug so far. They said radios had been changed in the past with no difference.

Hi
I had the same problem with mine. When I mentioned it to the service department they straight away said they would order me another one. Since then I have not had a problem.
Mine was replaced in Feb this year. I also had a ecu software update around the same time to resolve other gremlins like headlights going out while doing 70mph at night.
Regards

I have phoned Peugeot Customer Relations today and report this problem with the radio losing the memory (usually after CD use).
It seems that there are so many people with the same problem and no fix that it has got to be sorted, once and for all and why not from the Manufacturers themselves as the Dealers haven't got a clue. I am on my fifth radio now !!!
They are going to investigate and call me back tomm......

This sounds good... however I also have the problem that the remote control spinning wheel thing is useless, you can't select a station with it at all, it brings the list up, you are able to navigate down one, and it stays thereafter reading Petersud's replies here i now always make sure it is switched from CD to radio before switching off the motor.
