good....... now i dont want to be pedantic, but from the pics the interior doesn't look all "that" much flashier or better put together than a CC one. I mean the seats are sport ones but to be honest I wouldn't really know if they are more comfortable than leather ones.....all in all good numbers performance wise.... give me a "region" of price tho! I mean 220 bhp is the double of what you have under your arse @ the moment.....are you really just gonna be able to trade in your CC for it???
One last thing... what you gonna do with warranty and service parts?
And, is it a brand new car?

its not a turbo...... its a V-tec......

Trust me its interior is much more solid and better looking than that of a CC.

Price wise its an import and like all imports its a shit load cheaper than buying a uk car, and having contacts in the importing business does help :) Put it this way its gonna cost less than a 1.6CC would new (under 14,995) and thats for a late 2001 model with 15,000km on the clock

Insurance is a HELL of a lot less than it wuda been on an evo or scoob and so are the running costs :D any parts can be got from honda dealership and if not i can get em flown in from japan ;)
MMMMmmmmmm V-TEC u gotta love it :)

Ok when I read this post I thought I would hold back a little.

I personally hate Hondas with a passion. I can't stand those whizzy sowing machine engines and Clairol hairdryer styled dashboards. They simply have no passion in my book. However after seeing some of your pics I must admit its not half bad. Its nice to see that Honda have started to make some decent looking cars again just like they did in the late 80's and as for the interior I must say that dashboard looks pretty good also. A total contrast to any other Honda dash I have seen of late. I have never driven a type R, but like you say they do have a reputation for being one of the best front wheel drive cars. I think I have seen somewhere that you can buy the old type R as a total race spec. With no heaters, elec windows or sound proofing, not sure they do it on this latest model. It was available through a specialist and was advertised in something like EVO. Pretty cheap too.

:? Not sure you should be slating the CC though. I hope you enjoy your new car, but there are plenty of us that still love our CC's and wouldn’t swap it for anything in the same price range. I own a faster and quicker car, but have found the CC to give the best driving experience. You feel you are going much faster when you do not have a roof over your head. Which is a good thing when there is a Gatso around every corner.

I am personally waiting for the new Renault Spider before I change my car for anything else It is being kept tightly under raps but rumour has it that it will perform like an Elise and have a hardtop roof like a CC.

PS. Think I like the black and orange interior best ;) . Have you really got a type R?

well u can hate honda's with a passion but i found it a pleasure to drive........ ferraris also have screachy engines but i'm sure u wudnt mind one of them in your bonnet

I'm not slating the CC...... simply stating how much the honda has put it to shame, i said i love my CC even thru all its faults and poor build quality its still a great little car just time to move on to a real drivers car.

I find it hard to believe you think the CC gives the best drive tho...... the driving position is poor and gear changes sloppy with a very spongey clutch.

And if u knew me you shud know i dont bullshit about what i got and dont got....... The type r will be with me end of august if u wanna race ;)

I do not know an awful lot about the proposed Renault Spider. I read about it on the Web when I was toying with the idea of purchasing the old style Renault spider. Basically I was searching for a hard top for it, but is turns out that the original Renault spider is a pure track day car and only has a cover for when its parked.

The article I found mentioned that there were two versions in the pipe line both on the same body/ chassis. One was a two seater with a ragtop and would be a direct rival for the Elise and replacement to the last Spider. Another version was to have a hard top similar to the new Megane cabrio and I believe both cars were to have aluminium chassis. I am afraid there were no pictures as even the article said it was all hush hush for the moment. It did say that the styling would be less aggressive than the last Spider, which is a shame. However it said that the focus was on it being a real drivers car.

I do not own a Saxo. But personally think they are great little cars. The VTS and 106 GTI are classics in the same way as the old 205GTI is. They are what they are simple and fun to drive. My partner is on her second Saxo. Perhaps I should get her on the Forum. One of the most fun cars I have ever driven was a 1.4 AX GT. It had a body made of plastic and poprivets and only 85bhp, but what fun.

I personaly see nothing wrong with the gearbox, clutch or driving position of the CC. I found the suspension set up was the only let down. Nothing that a few hundred quid wouldn't sort out. You have to recognise that the CC is a cabrio and does not offer the structural rigidity of a fixed top car. That said I have never found scuttle shake a problem. I drive enthusiastically on occasions and feel the car is very well balanced. It isn't a racecar but I have toyed with people in the past and haven't come unstuck or looked silly yet (hence I will not accept your challenge in August! ). It is not a track day car but my 2L gives me more pleasure than cars I have driven with twice the power simply because it has no top and the sensation of speed and acceleration is greatly increased. Oh yes Ferraris do not screech they gracefully rasp

I just do not see the point with the current idea that car manufacturers have at increasing engine power at such dizzy engine speeds. If you have not got max power below 6000 rpm then on the street you end up looking like a hooligan. There is nothing more graceful than a car overtaking at just above idle engine speeds. That’s why I think the 206 180 is going to be a let down. Giving the standard 2l-engine variable valve timing to increase power above 6000rpm is stupid. The 206 needs more low down grunt to pull away faster hence the extra power should have been built in at lower engine speeds. Don’t worry you are not the first person to disagree with me on this..

I guess I am not into engines that feel binary and prefer my accelerator pedal to feel more linear in response. Hence I do not like turbo'ed cars either. As for disliking Hondas please take it as a thumbs up that I think your new car looks great. I had to drive a VTEC Civic once and it has put me off for life. I didn’t like anything about it. The worst part was the steering. It felt like you were on black ice all the time, I think Honda has moved on since making such a cars.

I think the Integra type R will be a great track day car and you should appreciate that your CC has not depreciation too much since you purchased it. Not sure you will say the same about the type R, but then if it is what you want go for it you only live once. You Just should not compare a track day car with a sporty car. I once went down the route of more power in cars. There is always a car out there with more power. But if your not going to use the power what is the point?

Hope you enjoy your new car.
