Just ran over a fox on my way home from the petrol station. Walked out in front of me and I braked and swerved but he had come out from behind one of those bollard things on an island in the middle of the road so didn't see him in time and couldn't swerve to the other side.

I could feel his bones crushing as I went over him. Poor little thing, was only little. very distressing.

That's real sad, on a brighter note a few nights ago i saved a hedgehog from being run over by running out into the road to stop an on coming car then chasing it into some near by bushes (the hedgehog not the car ;) )

Duncan have you no heart? No wildlife deserves to be run over by a car. British wildlife is something to be proud of!

On the subject of road kill. I once saw a cow that had been split in half right down the middle. I saw the rear half and my mate who drives the same way to work in the mornings saw the head half.

Not a pleasant sight first thing in the morning :ill: and the van (and driver) that hit it didn't look too good either.

Hope your car is okay by the way ;)

I'd feel sorry for a rat too.....and a cat, and a hare, and a badger and whatever else could get killed!
and why would foxes be vermin? coz they eat your chicken?

Bugger, one less to be hunted this winter!

As for eating chickens thats nothing. The trouble with foxes is they will break into a chicken coop and kill everything and eat nothing!! Once heard about one that started eating a calf as it was being born and its feet hadn't even touched the ground!

If foxes were ugly no-one would give a s**t. Rant over.

There that should get the insults flowing!!!
