Engine faulters at varying rev levels
EXTREME smell of petrol when the climate control is on
Will not idle, stalls.
This does not seem like the usual engine-cutting-out problem, particularly coupled with the stench of petrol
After 9days of the car sitting on the drive waiting for it's 'earliest available appointment' in the garage, I requested a relay by RAC as I was not comfortable with my other half driving it in. RAC checked and there was no leak, but followed her to the garage to be sure all was okay.
Garage have since run diagnostics, reset all of the parameters and say there is nothing wrong.
Sounds to me like the mixture was extremely rich, but what do I know (probably more than the dumbkopfs servicing your 206 I hear you say). Just a little concerned - don't want the thing going up in flames, well, at least not with my other half in it (insurance claim, A2, happy)
Apologies for just popping back when I have problems, but this one sounds unusual and has got me a little concerned.
Unusually worrying....

They put the car on diagnostics and 'reset all of the parameters', flushed the aircon system to get rid of the bacteria (.....£30) didn't believe there was a smell of fuel and handed the car back. I took it out for a drive - all well.
Missus went on nightshift, same problem on the way home. The car was parked on the drive at the front of the house, and I could smell petrol in the en-suite !
Needless to say, car went in, the Service Manager is taking us seriously, we have a new 307 to drive and we've heard nothing for 2 days.
Now considering our options.

Being not mechanically minded in the slightest and actually a bit dense (
) That sounds unbelievably like the problem I am currently experiencing with my car.
When I switch the ignition on, it jumps (best way i can use to describe it!) and can stall without me touching it. Also, I've noticed a really strong smell of petrol regardless of whether I'm inside the car or 10 yards away from it. The only difference is that my engine diagnostics light constantly flashes when I am driving.
The car is booked in for Wednesday morning, I'm not driving it other than that!

Same here ! I forgot to put that on.The only difference is that my engine diagnostics light constantly flashes when I am driving.
The car seems okay now, still getting shot of it though, shame as when it works - it's a great motor.
I'd be tempted to allow them to diagnose the problem, if they don't come up with the answer - hit them with the 'injector o-ring' thing, and impress them !
