I picked up my 2.0SE in April from a very well established Peugeot dealer in Blackpool.
The first problem was the drivers door...was difficult to shut and the window did'nt fit into place properly. took it in and within 1/2 hour all done.
I started to get concerned because the engine just did'nt feel right.
There was pincking when changing from 1st to second gear... I just could'nt seem to drive it right... I started thinking it was me..the way I was driving the car.
Took it back to the dealer who instantly said...ECU download.
Back it went..came back and was a lot better. not perfect but better.
Now I have a very annoying metallic loose dingle sound on start up when cold...possible exhaust / cat who knows.
Still concerned about the unstable engine at low revs and when ticking over I took it back and the service manager drove the car. He agreed there was something wrong.
The cars booked in for two days next week...I'm looking forward to having these problems sorted because I'm very dissapointed with the car so far. Paid a lot of money for something that did't drive as well as my 9 year old Corsa...Lets see what happens.

Nowt to do with your problem but you've just reminded me. After I put my wheels back on, once they were nice & sparkly, I took it down the road and back to let the suspension settle back down. I had a problem changing into 2nd gear. Wondered what the **** I'd done until I noticed the ciggy lighter in the gaiter. I'd put it there while I was using the socket for the inflator :P

I picked up my car a month ago and I too have just recently noticed the same noise when the car is cold. Have to say the 206CC is the most fragile feeling brand new car I have ever owned. At the moment I get squeeks from the window seals, a metallic rattle coming from the the boot, the previously mentioned metallic sound on starting and yesterday when putting the roof down it made a strange squeeking noise when the roof was half way down.

If the car is like this at 4 weeks old I dread to think what it will be like when it is 4 years old!

Sounds like a manifold problem to me. Just had mine fixed after a year of complaining to Pug. Makes the car fell shed loads better and faster...im happy again!

I've just got mine from the peugeot dealer in Blackpool, mines also got some minor probs. They seem to be OK at sorting stuff out though which is good. One thing I did ask them about was the fuel display on the centre panel (where it tells you how many miles you have left in the tank), I filled the car up for the first time last week (not had it long) and the display came up but now won't go back off again! Is this right or can I get it to go off again? Dealer didn't seem concerned but it's bugging the hell out of me!
PS - the car was second hand so i don't know if has done this before :|
Lovin it! Specially when the roof doesn't leak;)
