This is not on.......
After the failure of the transaction with auto-cruise (via ebay) due to the fact that the lights were not working, I decided to try a company with better reputation (according to lots of you, not all though): ECOSSE.

Their website shows clearly lexus lights with orange bits in them, and they are the style i was looking for: see picture http://www.ecosse-peugeot.co.uk/show_product.asp?id=383

I explicitly told the guy on the phone I had had problems with another company and their lights were not working, and that I WANTED the lights with the orange bits as showed in their website. The guy agreed all cheerful. Of course (i am starting to expect things to go wrong with these sort of companies that sell bits for yr car... ) I received the lexus lights that look like these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... gory=28646 which ARE NOT the ones showed on their website.

Now, apart from the fact that Chris Holmes's are the same as mine (and let water in after a bit, see thread http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... sc&start=0) and that they look better quality than those I had previously from Auto-Cruise, the fact remains that they are NOT the ones shown on the website and they are NOT the ones i asked for. An to add to that, they didnt even care to put bulbs in them  (!!!) (auto cruise's didn't work but at least they had bulbs in them!!!) Now, considering that I paid a FAIR amount of £££ for 2 pieces of plastic, i was expecting them to have bulbs at least!

But it didnt end there.....

I also ordered a bonnet vent PART NR BA17 as per their website (again) told him also the name of the style of the vent (toxic) coz the guy was not sure of which 1 it was. Of course i got part BA 13 Virtuel bonnet vent that is :yuck: :yuck: :yuck:

Of course the whole bonnet vent thing was planned coz on wednesday the CC is going to the dealer to have some paint problems corrected under warranty and the dealer offered to spray the vent too!

They have a message on their answering machine......NOT IMPRESSED

only positive thing.... the stuff arrived when they said it would be. Mind you, if it arrived tomorrow but with the right parts I would have been happier.....

also worth bearing in mind is with anything you get what you pay for. ecosse sell quality products and not rubbish so you need to pay for it. i'm sure they could easily supply lights at £100 and cheap bodykits and spoilers etc.. if they wanted to but they prefer to deal in quality goods and thats partly what they have built their reputation on
Oh and pls Derek, can you explain this 1? :|

You may be right. Watch out for the left on letting in the wet stuff - if you decide to use them of course. Which it the sounds of it you wont!

At least you have something from them all I get is broken promises. I am £176.00 lighter and don't have anything to show for it and that's sine April 2nd.

Is ther anyone from Ecosse that can stick up for them and sort our problems out. Does anyone have any good contacts there?

I know it may be too late but I used a company called direct car parts , no broken delivery promises (not mentioning any company names ) , no leaks , right ones and all of this with bulbs - excellent service or what , did cost around £170 though.

i was talking from personal experience and knowledge.

obviously on this occasion this hasn't happened but i'm sure if you phone them up they will sort it out.

e-mails don't always get answered right away due to the volume they receive so just phone them.

they normally work saturday morning, not sure about afternoon so give them a phone on 01506 516106 :)

update:
Diane from Ecosse phoned me last night and left a msg saying she would contact me today.
She phoned back this morning while I was trying to get the bulbs out of my original lights to see if the lexus were working.
They do.... but I found a very weird thing. the position lights (the third bulb if you know what I mean) never switch on.......instead the brake lights go on when i switch the position lights on... then when i brake the lights go "bolder" if you know what I mean. I swapped back to my original lights and found out that EVEN the original lights do the same! Practically I have a 3rd bulb on each light that never comes on! (that is the one of the position lights). the front lights are working ok...... booked the car in for tuesday. (oh and the rear fog lamp doesn't switch on either)
But back to Diane, she was very apologetic, she said that the bonnet vent had been a mistake from the part of the guy who took the order, saying he's new.... they DO NOT have a Toxic vent in stock (ETA 3 weeks so knowing that it's gonna take even longer than that I sent it back for a full refund) and the 1 I have is a Virtuel one which looks :yuck:
Back to the lights, she said the ones with the orange bits used to let water in so they discontinued them, and I sd they really should update the pics of the website not to mislead customers.... she offered a refund also saying that the bulbs were not included...... again they should state that on the website, considering all other ones do include bulbs....

In the end I tried the lights on the car and they DO look good, the quality is better than those I had previously so I decided to keep them. I just put a bit of transparent silicone on the top parts to seal them, to be on the safe side that they don't let water in.....
Pissed off about the vent tho, so she said next time I need to buy stuff from them, she'll do me a special discount...... see what happens.
