Okay the monkeys have got the car.
Been loaned a 206 Look
About to leave work, I have a flat tyre, with a rusty nail in it, nice of them to lend me top quality goods GRANTHAM SERVICE DEPARTMENT Anyhow changed the wheel to the space saver one. Not only is the width smaller which I knew anyway but so is the diameter. When I placed the space saver on top of the flat it was a good inch an a half smaller all the eway round (about 3" less in diameter)
Is this normal becuase the car was handling like a b**ch?
Blowing stack big time with garage tomorrow, need ammo.
Help please!!

Beware if you put bigger wheels on your car (ie nice shiny alloys) and you get a puncture, your space saver will be smaller than the other three wheels should you need to use it...hence the name space saver
its only meant to be there for emergency use to get u home or somewhere to repair your tyre
demand they give u a free one for your CC

They certainly do yeah. 50MPH for a maximum of 50 miles, a space saver is only really there to stop the hub hitting the floor when you corner and should only be used in an emergency.........besides they don't look as good as an alloy so you don't want to drive with one on for longer than you absolutely have to.

Hi Vanda - I've just bought a spacesaver wheel and tyre for "CC" (just buying it was a saga in itself - took 4 different pug garages 2 months to get me one)
The spacesaver wheel and tyre is a 15" one which I expect is fine if you have a 1.6 CC as they come with 15" wheels. If my memory serves me right the 2 litre has bigger wheels (16"?) - this might explain your problem.
Did you know there is a beanie baby called Vanda? Thought I'd share that useless info with you
cheers

It has bigger wheels but lower profile tyres. The net result is that the overall diameter should be about the same. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to stick the 16" wheels on the 1.6 - the speedo would be out...The spacesaver wheel and tyre is a 15" one which I expect is fine if you have a 1.6 CC as they come with 15" wheels. Flo, yes I did know about the beanie baby and sadly enough I just bought it off e-bay!!!
Everyone else,
Can I just clarify one thing about this bloody tyre. Imagine putting a wheel on the size of a 7" single when the other 3 are 12". I'm not saying about it being less wide than the other one, I know they are narrow but when 3 wheel are touching the floor and the suspension is overcompensating to make the small one touch it's wrong surely. I dont think this was a standard space saver.
