Update: it can't be Perry McCarthy.

According to Autosport, The Stig is racing in a 24hr 2CV race at Snetterton this weekend. Perry McCarthy is, of course, racing the Audi R8 at Le Mans.

All i know that whoever it is .. he shouldn't be put near any type of performance car.
Top Gear were making an attempt at the world record for towing a caravan at speed, currently set at 126mph by Martin Reyland in a modified cossy -
well they attempted to break the record using the Norris Designs Evo (fasted Evo in the UK) and the stig managed to blow the engine. Apparently exhaust tempertures were measured at 1170c and the guy melted a piston.
Top Gear are refusing to pay for repairs.

Except it wasn't the Stig driving, it was some stunt driver or other (can't remember his name but they definitely said who he was).

I think he was driving the Jag C Type they recently knackered though.

By the way, don't forget to complete the Top Gear survey folks, let them know exactly how crap Peugeot Dealers are!

Yep, this was also in the Mail.

Apparently classic car enthusiasts are far from happy with Perry McCarthy doughnutting the Jag on the program and the owners now suing Top Gear for K's worth of damage caused to it.

Lads in their motors  :D
