Hi

I currently own an MGF and am looking to move to a 206cc 2.0ltr as I love the look and features of the car. However at the moment I am hesitating because I have had alot of problems with the MGF and I don't want to buy another car with lots of problems.

How prevalent are the problems and do they get resolved easily when the occur?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Chris

Yes MGs are appalling for mechanical problems .. in the same league as Lotus's .. don't touch with a barge pole.

Peugeots are substancially better, I'd highly recommend one in every way.

Peugeot's problems aren't so bad.
Don't hesitate to order 206 CC ;)

You may find a slight bias towards the CC here Chris (with it being a CC forum!)
Most of the initial teething troubles have been ironed out (ie leaks, faulty roofs etc) The only really recurring problem these days appears to be squeaky brakes. Are you planning on buying new or used?

(wow another CC related post from me! I feel a bit faint...might go and have a lie-down!)

I just bought my cc a month ago and considered all other cars in the approximate price range .. the cc was the clear winner.

Next best I think was the up and coming Megane CC .. if you dont mind waiting .. there are some pictures on the internet somewhere.

Lyndon - I LURVE the colour of your car - just a shame I didn't order mine before they discontinued the firedance, so I ended up with my second choice (black!)
