My next credit card will be Capital One coz they're giving away a pocket TV worth £80. After that, I'll go for either my 2nd Egg, 3rd RBS Advanta, or might try a new one :D
Capital one are :censored: ! They accepted me for a platinum card and then sent me some :censored: blue thing! they then told me it was because i has ASKED for a 2 grand limit! Why the HELL would i want a poxy little 2 grand limit - i cant even book a holiday with that! Then they said they couldnt up my limit to give me my platinum card for 6 months - now they say they cant upgrade it at all, and i would have to cancel my account and apply again! What a con - avoid them like the plague, or just screw them for their free tv then close the account. Whatever you do DO NOT transfer any balances to them like i did!

As I said it may or may not be a problem but I be suprised if Elephant could outright say you had a years after 10 months? You'd be "buying" your no claims and hence not really in the interest of the other insurance companies to honour it? Maybe I can pay even more and get 1 year after 6 months, 6 years after 1 year, etc. etc.
The pug free insuance company give you 7 years NCB if you renew one year, which you can then take elsewhere. Brokers can also often swing you additional NCB deals

NCB isnt actually a bonus for not claiming - otherwise how could you have it protected? it is actually just a rip off invented by insurance companies so that they can charge more to people who DONT have it!

I am insured with Diamond, but you do have to be careful about the whole 10/12 month policy issue.
Firstly, I was warned by some other insurance companies that although Diamond will recognise 1 yrs NCB after 10 months not all companies will!
Secondly, i actually worked out how much it would cost me per month average to buy the 10 month policy, get the discount then another 10 months. Then compared the average monthly cost of buying 12 months, getting 1 yrs discount then another 12 months. It actually worked out about £1 cheaper per month to do it over 12 months. Therefore you're being conned into thinking that after 10 months you are getting something.
It seems to me that they are obviously doing it for there own benefit, and i think that it because you will struggle with any other company after 10/20 months.

Be smart, but beware!!!!

My PB at NatWest had exactly the same thing happen to her too! She cut the card into tiny little pieces and sent it back to them.
