Squeaky brakes query

Hi All
My brakes squeal can shatter glass at 200 yds.......someone told me that putting "Copper slip" whatever that is, on the back of the pads will stop them squeakng. Anyone else heard this?
I have had them filed on the face,power washed you name it, so is this worth a try. ?

I've noticed I'm getting a squeak as well just before the car finally comes to a stop. Forgot to raise it with my service guys at A&J yesterday!

I've had them put on mine and my car does not really squeak, just every now and then!
