Simple - buy one!

Yes everyone has minor problems, but they're insignificant compared t othe fun of owning & driving one.

i had a couple of work mate bought brand new car arround same time as i do, suburu and a nissan, they too have problems and have to bring back and forth more times then i do, the advantage is 206cc is worth it :) ... you see buying a new car with problems you tends to be more picky at it where as buying second hand one you tends to ignore it.

I would agree, more picky.
My car was manufatured in January this year and have not experienced any problems like recalls, engine problems, sqeeky brakes, roof etc...

Buy one and get the roof down!.

Go for it! I used to drive company cars and there was not one car without a flaw...
Oh no, i drove a toyota for about a year and i can't remember having any problems with it. But they don't have a normal convertible (only MR2).

And most of the problems here are minor problems and can be fixed by your dealer easily!

What model/colour are you thinking of? (just curious)

Had mine 3 weeks, can't fault it. Great car. If you're buying in the UK push the dealer hard. He told me £700 profit on each car so I'd aim for £1500. Watch "Wrong Car, Right Car", BBC2 monday night for tips on how to do it :) http://www.bbc.co.uk/motoring/wcrc/index.shtml It probably got me a set of mats if nothing else! Key points to note, know when to look disappointed, aim highly, and know when to throw something in to the ring and stay silent until the salesman comes out with something positive :)

I think it's harder on the 206cc though, it's not as though it's something you see on the roads every day with them piling up not being sold, nor is there the choice of models/trims/engines and styles to take care of.

Fantastic. I've been wanting to give my 'with hindsight' advice to someone! Are you planning on buying new?

I would advise to use a main dealer and not to import. I think you have to accept that you may get some (hopefully minor) probs and i think you will get a better response if not an import.

If you are needing finance, shop around. In my experience, if you have a prob, it would be better that the finance is NOT with Peugeot. Try Sainsbury's bank. They are very competitive and depending on what deal you are offered could be quite a bit cheaper. (No i don't work for them).

I could be wrong - but if i was going to start again, i would take out independant AA cover - if you have a prob, they may help by backing you up.

My final bit of advice is...buy one! :D It is a fantastic driving experience 8) .

Definitely, go for it. I've had mine 18 months now and done almost 30,000 miles without any real problems.

The worst thing I had was the driver window once opened as I was driving and wouldn't shut! The dealer sorted it out (by replacing the window switch unit). Never heard of it happening to anyone else though.

I also had a (self-inflicted) roof problem once but a couple of questions to this forum soon got it sorted.

Vince.

PS. If you do get the car USE THE ROOF! As far as I can make out, there are only two people in this country (including me) who ever put the roof down. So far this year I've seen dozens of CCs but I don't think any have had the roof down.[/b]

Then you haven't been to Bristol! :P

I was a bit self-conscious at first with the roof down but love it now (and i've only had it 2 months). Yes, people look when the roof is moving, but so what - it's fascinating!

I've seen a few in this warm weather, all roofless.
