Anyone tell me how long I should wait for Peugeot to send me a handbook for my new 206cc (moonstone, full leather) before giving them hassle?
This is my 3rd 206 - previous 1.6GLX then GTi - so I do at least know what the dashboard tells me!!

I'm surprised they haven't got this handbook problem sorted out yet. It really should be in the car when you pick up so any delay is unreasonable.....so just hassle them

Well I got my car in October via Virgin. No handbook. Asked for one in November. Nada. Asked again in December. They wrote back to me and told me that I should pursue it directly with the local peugeot dealer, pay for it and they would pay the money. Like a fool I agreed. ( What the hell was I thinking!!!!)

I am still waiting.

( as a side note, the guys in this forum were kind enough to sort out copies of their handbook but I am still waiting for MY handbook to come.)

Thanks for the advice.
My CC was UK supplied by the Peugeot dealer nearest to the Coventry factory - my brother works there and I have enjoyed employee discount. That does not mean special favours however as I have found out with my previous 206's. I do have the contact numbers for the Admin department at the factory so that is my next action; I'll post my experiences.

Chase them. Handbooks come from Virgin, not the dealer. Mine came within a week. The service book is another matter - I'm still waiting for an English service book from the dealer. I ordered it 4 months ago!

Not wanting to start a row but i would have thought it was perfectly reasonable for a dealer to charge for a handbook if he never supplied the car, especially if the car was an import. You wouldnt expect comet to give you a manual for a television you bought in currys would you?

Again, although i would expect pug head office to supply one, if you have side stepped their dealer network, i would have thought it reasonable for them to charge too?

Hopefully i will come out of this SLIGHTLY more popular than saddam!?! :D

When i read his comments I actually thought he meant the French Dealer rather than a local dealer. It would be reasonable for the French dealer to provide at no cost. ( Am assuming he was importing himself rather than via a middleman/person) Am sure Pukka pug will clarify.

I on the other hand have go to get my handbook from my local dealer, pay for it and get my importers to reimburse the money - very time consuming.

Incidentally, it is a glorious day so what the heck am I doing online!

TOP DOWN TIME!
