As someone mentioned on this forum last week, Aluminium is replacing Platinum Silver.

It is hard to notice the difference but when you see two cars with the colours near each other, new new colour is a lot brighter.

I'm happy to say my new CC is Aluminium, still expect to pick it up on Wednesday, but i know they were having a little problem getting the right colour today to paint the wheel arch extensions as it is so new.

Derek, mine's aluminium. It's Dec 2001 build and I've had it for 4 weeks. I love the colour, however have no comparison to Platinum.

Not sure if the pics Lyndon posted for me can show the difference, but as I said I'm happy with the colour.

Going to rain tonight, will let you know how I feel about the rest of the car tomorow!

Hi Frosty,

Not to ask a dumb-arsed question but how do you know if your car is Aluminium rather than Platinum Silver? Especially if you don't have anything to compare it against? Or have you compared it to other 206's?

BTW, you might want to look at moving to Adelaide. We haven't had a drop of rain for over 50 days - I think we are going for some sort of record for most consecutive days without rain. I suppose it is the benefit of living in the driest state in the driest continent in the world.

Hi there Kirk.

The only reason I think it's aluminium is that was the description on the delivery documentation my dealer received.

As far as the rain, we had some last night and yes I had a leak again. I've narrowed it down though as the leak only occurred after I had opened the door. It seems that the way the water runs off the roof into the seal when the door is opened, puts water into the seal that moved when you brake. Not a torrent but enought to annoy. I'm working this with my dealer and PCA and am getting attention.

Will let you know when I get some quantifiable action.

Cheers

Frosty

PS How are you settling into using a manual transmission?

Frosty at al,
What happened about the Norwegian documentation of a "fix" for the leak? And why aren't all the Peugeot dealers internationally being provided with infomation on such fixes. Surely it shouldn't be up to consumers to be chasing info from Peugeot HQ in France via a third country to bring to their dealer! Comments?

Cheers!

Frosty, the type of leak you are talking about(not a torrent but nough to annoy) is exactly what I've been suffering with for the last 6 months, since its enough to wet the sleave of my coat/jeans each wet morning when stepping into the car.

I haven't had any joy with fixing so I'd be interested in hearing your developments.

Robbie,

I had exctly the same type of leak, the old "wet right arm" and it went away when the dealer fitted modified seals in January this year. As you've probably noticed it's hardly stopped raining since then and I've not had so much as a dribble from the seals so far.

That sounds interesting. Think I'll add this to the list for my 6 month service which is now imminent. They'd better do something if they want me to sign on the dotted line for my new Pug.

Hi Frosty,

I've probably got the same problem as you have BUT I'm waiting for it to rain to test it. Mind you I have a garage which I park my car in at night so I might have to leave it out to see if I am 'lucky' enough to get a leak! For now I'm just enjoying this great weather - I think the CC was made for the Adelaide climate!

As for the manual driving its coming along well. I'm an old hand now - well may be not quite but I've got the hang pretty well and enjoy the difference in the our 2 cars. Mind you, because we live in the inner city I do find it a pain not getting out of 2nd or 3rd when in morning or evening traffic. But on the upside it gives people more opportunity to stare!

Let me know how you get on with your problem resolution as I may need some insight when we finally do get some rain.

The work the dealer did after getting the manual didnt work, the car was worse after they tried to fix it. So don't bother to ask your dealer about it...
Think the solution Peugeot Norway goes for is "home made" by one of their tecnical guys who also had leaks on his 206cc. The solution I belive they have developed seems to work, and its not a thing they can explain on phone how to do. Therefore he has been traveling around in Norway and fixed the leaks and educated the dealers at the same time. I asked him what he did, but the answer wasn't that good. He told me that it was a question of the right amount of (rubber)"pasta" at the right places. Too much or too litle or placeing it at the wrong places would make the leaks worse. He also adjusted the windows. Sorry, but I dont know any more about it.

Bergen,
Thanks - it sounds like we need a nordic international mechanic expedition! - or how about some video conferencing training for other international dealers - should we suggest this to Peugeot??

The funny thing here is that I have been in contact with some swedish owners and it seems that they get their leaks fixed. Im not abel to read the dutch forums or sites but I have been in contact by mail with a few and all of them also got their cars fixed. Maybe I have been in contact with the lucky ones and the rest of the owners suffer with the same problem??? I dont realy know, but it would be nice to hear their experience if they are reading this site.
He, he.. I just realised that Im writing about leaks in the new colour section, so maybe noone reads it.....
