Help,

Finally got to the root of why my car has been making some weird noises - The Catalytic Converter has died. I put it on ramps yesterday and thing rattles like hell when you shake it. Haven't taken it to my dealer yet to find out how much it is gonna cost me.

Anyone else had the same problem?

Rgds

How long have you had it?

Only had it 8 months. I have done 20,000 miles.

I drive it fairly hard, and I have added a Devil Back Box and a K&N replacement filter element.

They shouldn't make much difference though - but I have probably invalidated my warrenty :-(

If it's not due an MOT soon, just replace it with a straight section of pipe.

How many cats are in a CC, anyway? Just the one? (Scoob has two, and I've removed the centre one so it'll still pass emissions).

Nice scooby mate.

There is a single CAT in the CC, but it has a lamda sensor either side in the later models, and so no one creates de-cat pipes for them,
