Juan - There's no problem once the car moves. Have you tried starting on a very steep hill or ramp of a multi-storey car park with someone heavy next to you? Or pulling away quickly from standstill at a stop sign into a highway? If you're an average driver, the car will probably leap and die. If you're a good driver, you'll notice that you have to rev up to 4,000rpm and pull away very slowly slipping and smoking the clutch.
I checked a 206 1.4l. It had the same problem. I'm beginning to think that most drivers living in flat areas are not aware of the problem, and that it affects many more 206's than people report.
Re the idea of changing the air filter - I removed mine altogether for a test drive, but it made no difference, its not an engine breathing problem.

Yep it nearly caught me out today at a set of lights on a slight uphill slope. I engaged first took revs to around 2000 and eased in the clutch to biting point. I then released the handbrake and looked on in horror as the rev needle plummeted and the car kangarooed away at walking pace and 2 seconds later picked up and shot away by now I had my pedal buried to the floor. The guy behind anticipating a smooth getaway on my part had to stall his car to avoid me. How he didn't rear-end me I do not know

This particular problem was the worst of the many unresolved problems we had with our 1.6S.

I was inches from having a Rover 400 embedded in my side whilst pulling out from a busy junction onto the A6 through Clapham, Beds.

Not wanting to put myself, my wife, family and friends in danger, we opted to get shot of our CC and not accept a replacement Warwick Wright Brent Cross eventually offered.

Having had two dealers have 4 attempts at putting right faults without success and having had a 1.6S auto CC for a month which had many of the problems our car had, (NOT the hesitance problem), we felt what is the point of having another and having the same problems.

How long before someone is killed because of this? Or have they already been killed and it put down to driver error?

Peugeot, if your watching, sort it!

I had sort of similar problem, but my dealer uploaded a new engine software and now the engine runs perfectly. I think the people who have written the software for the CC must be Microsoft's employees. The software is full of Bugs like Windows..(that's the reason of all strange faults and warnings on the display) and you need to install Service packs in order to run smoothly.

Derek,

We had several downloads - Didn't sort our hesitancy, lumping whilst idling or poor restarting.

And, as said two posts back on this topic, crash it nearly did!

With the cold snap well and truly here - I am finding that my engine's hesitancy problem is rearing it's ugly head with a vengence. Twice I nearly stalled when pulling away and this was on level ground. Also 'feathering' the throttle causes problems. The car judders when in traffic when the engine is cold then just as the road ahead opens out I press down for a smooth pull-away (bearing in mind I'm either in 1st or 2nd gear at this point) and there is monumental throttle hesitancy unless I nail it or drag the clutch a bit. whereby I'm on the person in front's bumper in a flash.

Can I at least have a month without running problems PLEASE.

Hi Guys,

I've read this topic and think I might have the same problem - really slow to start off, quite juddery until about 3000 revs.

What's this download you're on about? Might get my dealer to have a look at it. Some sort of engine re-programming?

Downloads did nothing for ours ......... nor did replacing everything except the engine and gearbox!

We don't have the car now, but whenever I mention it to people they say it sounds fuel related. All Camdens and WWBX tried with Peugeots help was ignition and electronics related.

Surely by now someone has had this problem solved?

I had this problem with hesitency with my 2.0 litre CC, where I'd have no power at all for a second or two when I pulled away at juntions, roundabouts etc. The fault was intermiddent, but happened mainly when the engine was cold.

I took the car about a dozen times to the dealer to have what must have been megabytes of downloads to the car and numerous other parts replaced.

Nothing solved the problem, and downloads were a total waste of time.

Eventually the dealer solved the problem by replacing the injectors.
Now it's fine at all times.
Hope this helps!

Eureka!

Someone got the problem solved! Any 1.6 owners suggested this to their dealers? If 'Yes', has it worked?

As in my last post, 'amateurs' kept saying fuel whilst the so called 'professionals' at Camdens and WWBX kept replacing coils, leads, plugs, sensors, electronic throttles etc!

Too late for us to try now!

Can any of the 1.6 owners who have suffered hesitance tell me if their gear boxes crunch when they are put it into reverse (unless you double declutch).

My 1.6 is awful at pulling away up hill, I can totally let the clutch out and use full throttle and still have to wait for it to bite properly :x

Mine crunches when I put it into reverse, so I am pretty sure that the problem is clutch drag. Just hope that the pug monkeys will be able to fix it as a few milimetres will make all the difference (or they will really knacker it  )

Yes mine crunches too, unless i put it in 3rd first (but dont lift the clutch obviously!)
I read on here somewhere that its normal for pugs or 206's
