Hi all ,

Bought my imported cc in oct 02 and promptly went to local Peugeot dealer to register it (with original invoice of sale and logbook) I was told that I did not need to register it until it recieves it's 6 month service .
But, I just read in the 'other ' problems forum that if I dont register it straight away I may have problems with the warranty / free service

Anyone got any info / experience of this ?

As long as they confirm that the docs you have are fine for registration then you have no worries.

If you get a problem with the car before the 1st service though, take the opportunity to register it to be doubly safe :D

I took my documents in with the 6k service and they said it was fine.

Took it back last week to have a seal looked at and they say everytime I take the car in I have to take the documents, even though they took copies of everything last time - is this normal???

My SLK's still in for warranty work, I took all my imported conformaty documents down to the dealer but they said it wasn't necessary as they could get everything they needed off my chassis number.

I was surprised cos I thought my warranty starts on the date the car was officially sold by the dealer in Belgium and that they would therefore need all these documents.

The Mercedes technician did say he thought my warranty lasted only a year but I mentioned I thought it was 2 years now.

Yeah, but if they've done what my supplying dealer was meant to have done, the details will be on the database just waiting for a UK dealer to pull them up and activate the registration. That's the way I understand it, anyway :P
