Hello everyone - this is the first time I've ever sent a message (a virgin - sort of...)
Great excitement as I've come into a little bit of money and, having oggled them for ages, am finally able to buy my dream car - a 206 cc. I'm not a great racer so think the 1.6 engine will suffice for me. I do plan to pay extra for a full leather interior, visability kit and moonstone paint though. Not sure about alloys - I'm not that fussed (seen some pretty awful ones on an a ford car that were really scuffed so I wonder whether the cc's alloys could go the same way) does anyone know whether the standard wheel trims look ok? all the cars I've seen so far have alloys so I cant tell.
My next plan is to visit the 3 peugeot garages we have in the area and "do business" - anyone got any tips re how to get a decent deal (cash purchase with no trade-in). Presume most dealers are too tight to knock off much (if any) dosh) so what kind of "extras" should I be asking them to throw in? I'm hoping to take delivery at the end of March (when my dosh hits by bank account) Is this a realisitic timescale?
Really looking forward to driving a convertible again - I used to have a 1950's Singer Gazelle Convertibloe called "Maybelline" - we were featured on Channel 4's Classic Car prog a few years ago and really miss the fun of driving a sexy car. Maybelline now lives in Bristol - wonder if anyone in that part of the country has spotted her - cream with a red hood and red strip last time I saw her.
Hope to hear from someone soon.
Cheers
Flo
Finally going to buy a cc!!

Leather is a definate option, the interior gets so dusty it makes cleaning the interior far easier. As for obtaining a discount, good luck ! I was in a similar position when purchasing my CC, but with the added difficulty of an ever extending wait period (up to 20 weeks) so a discount was almost a no-no. I rang 7 dealerships and 6 said 'no, but if you take finance....' the 7th said - 'no discount but we can give you what you want within the month' - that clinched the deal ! The dealership was 100miles away -but I ordered the CC Thursday night and picked it up on Friday of the following week !
I have recently ordered another car and had a tough time negotiating a discount. What I did do was fax or e-mail as many dealerships as I could find in the local area laying my cards on the table, showing the full spec. I was after and giving them the opportunity to offer me some discount, I then threw the net out to dealerships further afield when the response was not that good. I had 3 discount offers one of which was xenon headlights (which they pulled out of when I went to order the car) and eventually ended up ordering from a dealership in Birmingham, about 90 minutes drive away saving a grand total of £675 which amounts to little over 2 and a quarter percent of the total sale, but Audi are notoriously difficult to negotiate with so I thought that was not bad.
I have seen posts on here where people have had a lot of extras thrown in (well done, better hagglers than me !) so that might be another avenue if they will not offer a hard cash discount. Good luck.

Go to the dealership at the near the end of the month as they often have targets to meet and are more likley to knock something off the price to meet a target!
I paid £15,500 for my Black SE which i thought was quite good saved about £1000 after a bit of negotiation and paying a £200 deposit on the spot!

hi there .. Thames Valley .. well if you're anywhere near I'd recommend ahterston peugeot in Cirencester - nice people and not too much monkeyness.
why not come to the mmet next sunday and have a chat to us all and scope out the cars and their alloys.

In fact, you might be able to get even more off at the end of Feb on a 52 plate.

Hi Flo
I am about 10 minutes away from you and have had my CC for almost 2 years now. Wokingham Motors and Camberley are both nothing to write home about. I have had both very poor service and quite good service from both of them (depends what kind of mood they are in!)
If you do want to come, we are all meeting up on the 26th of Jan in Essex. There are about 20 CCs expected and it may be a great opportunity for you to get some background knowledge, have a good look at some CCs and ask the owners what they think. If you do, just post on here and I will give you all the details. Pauline (another member on here is local too and we are meeting at the Sainsburys on the Bagshot Road in Bracknell before we convoy on to Essex)
There are plus and minus points to all cars but at the end of the day I am happy with mine!
Welcome to the forum and hope we can help with any questions!

Hi Julia
Thanks for the advice and the invite - unfortunately I'm away on 26th - what a pity as I'd love to have met up with some fellow cc fans!
Wokingham dealer was relatively helpful and courteous (so they should be given that I was prepared to hand over £16 grand!)
Charters of Aldershot was worse than useless - spoke to a very young lad (I'm sure I've got dresses that are older than him!) He did not even know when the 03 reg plate comes out - I ask you!
What colour is your cc? Do let me know and I'll look out for it zooming round the Meadows roundabout!
All the best
Flo

Hi Flo
Speak to Scott at Wokingham Motors. He is great!
Don't (or try to avoid Ian Perrow) he sold me mine from another dealership which has now closed and he wasn't truthful to me in all the closings of the dealership!
I have an Aegean blue CC.
We regularly have meets now so keep yourself known on here and keep an eye out and you are more than welcome to come to another meet even if you don't have your CC yet.
(We had one in December in Windsor and then went bowling in Wokingham) Check the pictures on the homepage!!!!
If you are on yahoo or msn let me know as its easier to chat on that!

Can also recommend Wokingham Motors (and Scott)
But we had do go all the play acting of Scott sighing deeply....saying he wasn't sure about the deal we were after.....Scott getting sales manager.....salesmanager diapearing into office with calculator and telephone.......salemanager emerging practically in tears before agreeing price. We already had the same offer from Marshalls in Tilehurst with far less fuss but prefered Wokingham as we intended to there for servicing etc.
Go for the alloys the stanard wheel cover are rubbish really will let car down

Hi Flo,
I paid £13k plus road tax, admin, warranty (total £13,622) for a 2.0SE silver from Motorpoint (importers). I just couldn't afford to buy from a pug dealership and my only other choice was wait a year and buy 2nd hand - I'm so glad I bought a new imported one. It's exactly the same as a UK model. Or you could try Trade Sales in SLough - same deal, or if they're more expensive, get a written quote from Motorpoint and they'll match it. For more posts on importing, use the search facility at the top of the screen and type IMPORT - there will be tons of stuff I reckon!
I have only great stories about Charters Camberley and my beloved CC is currently in Charters Aldershot body shop - someone reversed into me
( So I'll let you know what I think next week when my CC comes home.
As for wheel trims - DONT DO IT! I think they look really naff and spoil the car (don't mean to offend anyone if you have trims, sorry!). Alloys are a must and just park carefully - I don't ever, ever bump up the kerb!
So you might see me around, wave! I'll be the ginger maniac with wide grin and the roof down no matter what the temp
