had the same problem and i also kept gong back to the dealer. It seems that the screww sometimes does not catch and tighten too what it is supposed to but after about 5 goes back at the dealer it eventually 'caught' and has been fine ever since

My boot has rattled ever since day one, and I have taken it back a few times and tried to explain the problem with no luck.

I have found that the rattle depends on how high or low the catch is positioned - this is the crux of the problem. If you can adjust the catch to the correct height, the boot doesn't rattle. However, it invariably works itself down quite quickly, no matter how hard you tighten it.

Why Peugeot had to design a boot catch that could be moved up and down is beyond me - it's a fundamentally cr*p design, as is the fact that the boot doesn't unlock with the central locking. Very annoying!!

And while we're on the subject of boots, why is it that water drips off straight into the car when you open the boot??!!

Agreed, that is utter crap too! really bloody annoying when you have paperwork/non water-safe items in the boot... you have to open it up about 1/4 of the way, and people look at you like you're wierd!

:x My boot also rattles like s**t - are you saying that it is the position of the catch - which can be adjusted . ive looked at mine , it is tight but is also fully down on its adjusting screws - should I try moving it up ?
I'd also read somewhere that the rattle is down to the lock mechanism on the boot lid as opposed to the catch - any info?

Yes, I've found that (on my car at least), the rattle depends on the position of the catch.

Try moving yours up and see if it makes any difference. I found that the best position wasn't right at the top, but just slightly down. It's very fiddly, and took some trial and error, but for a few blissful weeks I had a rattle free boot (until it worked itself down again).
