I picked my car up from the dealership after it went in to get some work done on the door sills, the breaks, the roof (I won't carry on!), and now I've got another problem -

The stop light that normally only comes on when the door is open, you don't have your seatbelt on etc, now has a mind of it's own!

It can be on one minute and off the next, or flashing - completely random!

Anyone else had this problem? Is it serious? The dealership say it's not....

Could literally be anything. The manual states that if the STOP light comes on whilst driving, take the car to the dealer ASAP.

I'd ask the dealer if there's any other advice in the manual that they are suggesting you ignore. Maybe drive around with flat tyres? Race around with no oil in the engine?

See what they say then.

It's only serious when it could make you ignore a real STOP warning for something important...

So ie IT IS SERIOUS NOW!

Maybe some connection is loose somewhere that's causing intermittent warning signals. But really I wouldn't have any idea other than that.

Take it in I reckon, and make them see to it, be it by gentle or forceful persuasion.

I think Pauline had this trouble

Let me knock on her box and wake her up! She might reply and let you know then! :D

Oops! I've done nearly 1000 miles since it first happened!

I think I'd better take it in to the garage again.

I haven't had any problems with engine cutting out though - it splutters in 1st and 2nd before about 2000 revs, but I hear that's normal for the 1.6!
