Petrol Guage

I have had my CC SE for just over a year and ever since I have had it the petrol guage has never shown full

: (Yes I have filled it up). However, during the past 2 months the guage only now shows about only quarter full when filled up. NE 1 else experienced similar prob?

nope but it sounds like the sender guage has gone in the tank. happened along time ago in my (whisper) nova

Paul, I am sure this has been previously mentioned on this Forum and my SE has the same prob...

The indicator does not show full as your tank isnt full!!! Try filling it up really really slowly, yes its bloomin annoying but you will get a full tank of motion lotion in the end...

Some others have this prob and Im sure one of the techincal bods on this forum can state why this occurs...think its something to do with the design of the fuel intake etc etc.. Hope this helps a little!

surely if it wasnt full he would notice that he has to fill it up every 100 mile? whcih i could imagine to be irritating

Yeah there's something strange about the way the fuel inlet is made that causes the nozzle to think your tank is full before it is. I've only filled up once so far and it clicked off at about half full. You can pull the nozzle back a bit and it seems to solve the problem.

I've filled it right to the top of the pipe on a couple of occasions - the needle still sits a few mm below the top marker.

Mine never hit the top but you can tell roughly how much you have filled it up my selecting the estimated remaining miles opyion on the trip computer. Thats what i do, i use that rather than the petrol gauge as it tells you how many more miles you can do. The petrol gauge is quite small and not accurate.

my guage normally reads virtually full but different pumps give different results. at one garage i use one pump has 2 nozzles for u/l, one hardly ever cuts off and the other does it all the time - and can i ever remember what one i should be using
