Hi all
I have had my CC for 6 months now, its just gone over 6k miles, and I have had nothing but problems.
Leaky Roof - Seal realigned but not fitted correctly so required 2 visits
Seats stuck, not sliding or not returning to right place when rear passengers getting in - 4 visits
Replacement Facia - scratched on delivery
Numerous rattle and squeeks - still not resolved
Large squeel comming from steering - possibly steering rack - not resolved
Rattle coming from engine area when between 2.5 & 3 thousand revs - possible split exhaust manifold.
Continous Electrical problems from all dials going to zero while driving to complete loss of radio, heaters, windows, lights while on the motorway. - still not resolved - 3 visits to dealer
The list goes on
My main concern is the seats though to be honest.
When I got the car I had a lot of problems getting rear passengers in as the seats would not return to there original position and would not lock in until they where in their furthest most back position. After taking the car to the dealers twice they decided I needed new runners and bracket.
Had the new runners etc fitted, and it worked for awhile but the problem has returned. A couple of night ago while our 10 year old son was in the back the passenger seat completely locked into place to the point where we could not get him out of the back of the car. In the end he had to force his feet out from under the seat and clamber into the front to get out.
Without tempting fate but if we where involved in an accident and had to get out of the car fast what would we do. This very scary situation. I am now at the point where Im not keen on taking any rear passengers at all.
I really dont know what to do, the car has had new seat brackets and runners and problem is still happening.
Even if i went down the route of rejecting the vehicle, what are Pug going to do.............give me a replacement..............NO THANK YOU.
After doing 6000 miles where do I stand on this ?
If you have read this far, thank you for being patient, and any advise would be much appreciated.
Regards

the best advice i can give is to try a different dealer ? Rather than use my local one i drive 10 miles up the road and they are great.Hi all
Seats stuck, not sliding or not returning to right place when rear passengers getting in - 4 visits
Seems to be a known problem I'm afriad, had it with mine but seemed to be sorted on first visit, now 10000 miles later it seems to be back.
Numerous rattle and squeeks - still not resolved
Pug build qulity at fault. Although using dyna mat in the door etc does help
Large squeel comming from steering - possibly steering rack - not resolved
Had it once, never again
Rattle coming from engine area when between 2.5 & 3 thousand revs - possible split exhaust manifold.
Seems to be another problem, I got the same phoning dealership tomorrow
Continous Electrical problems from all dials going to zero while driving to complete loss of radio, heaters, windows, lights while on the motorway. - still not resolved - 3 visits to dealer
Ask Julia ...

Sam, if it makes you feel any better i would have loved your car. Oh to have a CC with so few problems.
Seriously though, the seats is a saftey issue. Take it back and demand that they fit complete new seats (frames) and runners.
Cracked manifold is normal - you will just have to get it changed - possibly quite often.
The dials and no power is a known problem on multiplex pugs - do a search on CHEUNG for more info if they say its not been heard of before.
Cant think of any more at the moment.

Sam I feel sorry for you, I loved my CC to bits but I had the same problem with the seats, a small leak which righted itself an a few annoying squeaks but the issue of the power failure as experienced by Julia an others really scares me, it happened to me only the once but once was enough cos the brakes an power steering went when turning.
OK you had it now 6 months an 6k miles but if you recorded a serious roof problem some while ago and they haven't been able to fix it after 2 attempts you can still try an reject it on the basis that they haven't been able to fix a serious problem (you could try a recorded letter giving them one more chance to fix it an the other defects or you intend rejecting it) Others have successfully done this or alternatively, with so many other problems logged with the dealer, you might try an reach an agreed trade in deal on account of all your hassle an inconvenience without loosing too much money (taking in to account your milage used of course).
Robbie.

Hi
Thanks for the advice guys, I have typed up a letter which I am going to hand to the service manager when the car goes in for its 6k service on Monday.
I have basically listed all the problems and the number of times the car has been back for these problems, and have stated they have one more chance to sort the electrics and seats or I will be taking further advice.
Regards

Sam,
If it's any consolation, I know exactly what you're going through. I love my cc but I've had loads of trouble with it and it's going in for it's 4th batch of warranty work since I took delivery in October 2001 (it would have had many more visits but I really dread going to the dealer - I tend to save the faults up and get them fixed in batches of 5 or so
).
As I said, I love the cc and I don't want to get rid of it, I hadn't had any engine problems 'til recently (it suddenly seems to be using a worryingly large quantity of coolant - I'm currently monitoring it) so my problems have been minor compared to a lot of forum members', but I honestly will never buy another Peugeot. I'm sure all cars have their faults but the combination of the cc's foibles and the Peugeot dealer network's apparent lack of empathy to the plight of their customers, is a recipe for disaster as far as I'm concerned.
Anyway, good luck - I hope you get an outcome you're happy with.
Justin (:( fed up and starting to wish he'd kept his old diesel - which was dead reliable and, ironically, was also a Peugeot).

I have to say my 2 racing Pumas have been no trouble at all. Oh I lie, they each had a small squeak, which Ford sent their top guy out to fix. Each car need 2 new washers on the exhaust pipe.
Its certainly better than the service I recieved on my CC's
I still miss the idea of going topless though. But at least I am a little bit more exclusive now, those CC's are just so common. ****waits for petrol bomb through the letter box now****

Well done Robbie
i had forgotten about that
It was a groaning nooise from the engine (no it wasnt say oh god here comes Rob). It was something to do with the cam belt tensioner pully. The noise was worse than it sounded. Took them about 20 minutes to sort. But it did sound expensive - lol.
