I'm sure everyone knows by now that my CC is being replaced after I rejected it on Friday.

I was speaking on the phone today to the salesman that sold me my original CC about details (for insurance purposes)of the 307 courtesy car I pick up on Wednesday.

He told me that my new CC already has a chassis number which means it's already built and he expects the dealer to receive the car within the next 10 days.

Hows that for service

Derek try and establish that its not one that fell off a transporter either! (perhaps we're all too suspicious of Peugeot).

Great news.

That's sounds about right. I ordered my 2.0 SE on the 14th of January and may very well be picking it up on Friday (If the DVLA gets their collective fingers out with my number plate transfer). Today my salesman told me that if you order now and aren't too fussy about colour you can expect about a month's wait before delivery. How can they suddenly be taking such a short time? I was told to expect 15 weeks wait when I ordered. Not that I'm complaining mind!

not being fussy doesn't affect me.

the CC SE has to be platinum silver with black/red leather as per the original car which is exactly what is being supplied.

another reason for being quick is that they may be reconditioned rejects

That can be checked, surely. If you are paying for (or getting a replacement) brand new car, and they give you a recon, I'd imagine they'd be in even deeper sh1t than they were once you find out.

Surely the registration document must show ALL previous owners, whether the car is a reconned reject or not.

Just look at the build date plate inside the boot on the right side as you face the back of the car.

I have encountered another way to get the car quicker. There are some parallel CC builds for Peugeot managers. So If you have access to "higher levels" inside Peugeot then your "order" can be delivered in 14days!! A friend of mine has taken one of them.
Any comments???

Mmmmmm, may just be an Aussie requierement. When you open the boot look at the inside of the rear boot panel, approximately half way between the lock and the right hand rear corner. Mine has a silver plate that's about 8cmx4cm nd gives the build date of the vehicle. In my case it's 12/01

i was only really joking earlier - i hope

i don't think they would even consider risking supplying a car that wasn't 100% genuine. also the dealer wouldn't be in on anything as the agreement is a full refund if the replacement car causes problems.

i expect the dealer have made themselves heard with this order. they are taking the full loss on the replacement, not peugeot. they also have the continuing losses on the courtesy car that they have been supplying all along. the general manager told me on friday that he would do his best to have the order fulfilled asap, i just didn't expect it to be as quick as it has been.

derek
