Been away for the weekend and someone has had it away with the lion badge off my boot (no other damage thankfully).

Anyone know how much they cost (or even have one??) before I ring a dealer.

Personally I would leave it off. I took all my rear badges off and it looks so much nicer because of it.

I may do that - I currently have a a glue lion on the boot where they took the badge off - maybe I should find the scally that nicked it and get them to take the others off without damaging the paintwork - they did such a neat job.

Will think about it when I get a price!

Will it fit the 'bottle holder'?

I take it you mean if I get hold of a new badge for the back? - I'm guessing it may be a bit too big and would need to be curved to fit the bottle holder properly, but if i do get a new one I will try it out and then post a response.

I hope this isn't a revival of that awful Volkswagen craze of (was it Vanilla Ice Fans?) nicking them an putting the badges round the neck.

I had my old Porsche 928 badge stolen round that time off my bonnet and the toe must have used a screwdriver cos the paintwork was well scratched.

Unfortunately we think they just wanted the shiny badge, because they didn't bother to nick the aerial which is usually the favourite and worth a bit more.

Also we're not sure where/when it happened - whilst I was away the car was in various places in Liverpool and I only noticed the badge missing this morning when I came out of the house.

nx,

as there is no damage i would say there is a possibility that it has fallen off due to not being put on properly in the first place.

my 1st new (M) 106 suffered from the front pug badge disappearing and i don't think anyone would have been that desperate to nick it. it was only a few £ for a new one but it wasn't as fancy as the CC one which may be more expensive.

depending on how you get on with your dealer, i would suggest asking (shout if you fail) for a new one F.O.C. and just tell him it must have fallen off :)

Derek

The car is 13 months old and has been through a bit of trauma:

12k miles
arson attack
manchester earthquakes
local jetwash

so probably would have fallen off before now if it had been loose at new. Someone at work said that VW went through a spell of offering FOC badges so I may give that a whirl otherwise they are £11.35 - if anyone else is interested
