Hey! There's still plenty of time for everything to go wrong

Balance request issued today. I should have it within 4 weeks now, although I'm trying to get them to speed things up seeing as how it's already over 2 months late.

I've transferred my insurance over to the Pug and readded my Fiesta as a temporary addition. Net result is £400 less than I though I was going to have to spend on insurance...

I have money for hoops and Lexus lights

Sorry - spent it on my new Kenwood :-D

Anyway - Virgin confirmed today they've got the cash. It now takes an average of 4 weeks to import it, inspect, register, tax etc. & deliver it to me.

Apparently they sent the lorry to pick the car up on Monday. Not quite sure if that means they sent it on Monday or it picked the car up on Monday. Either way, it should now be on its way to Blighty.

Well mine is still on target for late July. Hopefully, your experience was a one-off
Certainly not a one off! I ordered my car from Virgin Cars in May 2001. I was told originally it would be a 9 month wait. Then delayed to April. Then to July. Then to August. I actually got my car on 18th September 2002.

I am currently waiting for compensation and the interest that would have accrued on the final balance paid.

I ended up writing to national newspapers, the chairman of Virgin and the production office for Fifth Gear.

I'm still waiting for my English handbook, and confirmation of warranty details. Grrrrrrr. Like wading through flaming treacle getting any joy from them.

I love my car but would I use them again? Not a snowballs chance in Hades.

At one point I phoned Virgin to find out where my car was and they said it was being brought by wagon and that Spain was a long way.

I admit that I was tempted to ask if the horses pulling the wagon were elderly - hence the delay!

moan moan moan moan moan

Alright, so Virgin is a sore subject when it comes to my CC!

Just keep trying!
After several phone calls, registered letters to Richard Bransons office and threats of legalaction for their actions not "being in the spirit of the contract", I finally got my deposit back in full with interest for the time they had it.
Let us know how you get on, we shouln't let them get away with this.
Buying a car over the internet is a big decision and I'm sure lots of people are swayed by the Virgin brand.
As for me, my car is now 6 months old and fantastic :D but I reckon I'd still be waiting if I'd kept with Virgin :x !

Manufacturing delays put it back to September and then Pug delayed the sending of the docs to the supplier for a couple of weeks after that...

I have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

I'm still waiting on the compensation due to me as a result of the delays. I think it's time to contact the press again. Watchdog, top gear, fifth gear and a few national papers. They are taking the proverbial. Someone mentioned registered post to Branson. May get that route if I can get his address.

Watch this space!
