It might sound silly but i am confused about when is the first main service on the 1.6ltr engine. The manual and the digital indicator says that the first service is on 30,000km but my mechanic said that this is wrong (only valid for the 307 not on 206cc) and the first service must be on 20,000Km. I am at the moment on 19,500km and i really don't know when i should do the service. Does anyone really know?
Thanks
First main engine service....WHEN?????????

on mine... Italian car, you have to go in for a warranty service after 10000Km or 6 months whichever comes first, then 30000Km or 2 years for the first main service....and by the way, my mechanic back in italy told me that you NEED to do the 10000Km service for the warranty to be effective ( also written in the manual which I read!!!

right i just realised what you r asking now....i was thinking about what my mechanic told me in italy before i left.... you know the indicator of km left b4 service on the dashboard? right.. at the beginning it says -30000Km and starts to go down the more you drive the car right? My mechanic in italy told me that that counter doesnt actually counts the kms normally, it tells you when to go for the service depending on how you drove the car! they told me as well that they never managed to have the main service after 30000Km, always before that!

Variable servicing intervals is not on my 'CC', Audis use that. As Lyndon specified, service intervals are at 6,000 miles then 20,000 miles with another check at 30,000 miles (interim, levels check not a full service) - this is all documented in your service book.
Personally I would not leave an oil change to 20,000 miles even with todays modern lubricants. I had oil changes every 5K, and since the 20K service have been using fully synthetic with changes every 10,000 miles.
