Is the 2.0 EW engine that much better than the 1.6 TU?

Hi all, I’m thinking about transferring my 2.0 EW engine and gearbox from my 2003 donor car into my 2006 1.6 TU car.
Is this power upgrade even gonna be worth the effort?

I’ve never driven my donor car as it has too many issues but the engine and gearbox are fine. So I have no comparison to go by.

My 1.6 is working well, however it does seem to have a flat spot on acceleration which it has always had, so I’m guessing this might be normal?

Any thoughts??

The 2 litre is a good engine but I personally find it's very short legged.
It almost needs a sixth gear to keep the revs lower at motorway speeds as the engine noise can get a bit tiresome over a long journey.
Because it's short geared accelerating off quickly does take a lot of quick gear changes too.
On the positive side it's a great engine for spirited drives through the twisty roads where I live in Wales

Would you know if the 2.0 engine has any flaws as regards reliability and longevity?
Mine currently has 90k miles on it.
Would you know what common oil leaks there might be with this engine.

I'm quite new to these cars and still on a learning curve, but I have spent a good few evenings reading up about them.
My general impression of them is that there a good engine with little issues but I can't stress enough, keep them well serviced.I personally change the oil every 5 k and make sure the timing belt is changed on time.
They do use a little oil so that's also worth keeping an eye on.The dash has an oil level indicator on it ,but always rely on the dipstick method to check it.
I often wonder did Peugeot put the dash indicator in because they knew they use a drop of oil between changes.
Generally speaking there ok and should cover a good mileage
