Roof not going down

Post by Dabbsy »

Hello I am having an issue with my 2003 206cc hopefully someone out there has experienced a similar situation to me. My roof no longer wants to go down, I have unclipped both hooks from driver and passenger side, blind is done in the boot. Everytime I try the roof button several tones go off but nothing happened, I've tried today and its not making beeping noises anymore but still the roof is not working?

Can anyone help? :(

Hi Dabbsy, you don't say whether or not you get the confirmation bong when both latches are undone.
Have a look through the roof problem section as there is loads of info in there
Cheers Col.

Hi Col, sorry about that. I don't hear any bong when the latches are undone, I have never noticed one to be honest.

Try cleaning the microswitches in the tops of the windscreen pillars with electrical contact cleaning spray.

Thanks for the replies. Are the switches behind the trim, if so is it easy to take off?

Thanks. I forgot to add that when I press the roof down switch the windows don't go down automatically, they do work manually however? Is there any pictures of the pillar trim being taken off as I don't want to break it lol.

The windows will not go down automatically if the roof ECU thinks the latch(es) are still done up.

There are detailed illustrated procedures in the Peugeot Service Box Documentation. It can be accessed on line if you register and the server likes your ISP - it doesn't like mine. But the procedures are pay-per-view.

Alternatively, you get exactly the same on a permanent basis here. It doesn't matter which car model you choose, you get the complete databases for all. It's a long download, so consider ordering the disk.

I've just noticed that the boot blind switch has no spring on it, the previous owner had put a cable tie on it. Is this so the switch is always on, I suspect this will need replacing?

Well, if you don't, you will have to rely on your memory to ensure the blind is in place before operating the roof, and it is easily forgotten.

You can either get it from a breaker, e.g. EBay or new - Part No 8794 LR. It's a pack of both hooks, one with the microswitch.

Hi,

im having the same issue. blind micro switch was removed from holder and has a cable tie on it but roof still wont go down.

ill give the run through of what iv tried.

i try the normal procedure pull out roof blind ( microswitch not in holder but still do it anyway) unlatch roof latches get the bong. press roof switch nothing happens then just starts to beep.

I checked the microswitches with multimeter and they seem to be working. the roof did sometimes work when boot was pressed down so I assumed the boot latch might have been off alignment so I tried to realign it but no difference so I replaced it and still no difference and now roof wont work at all. I then tried to bypass the microswitches but again same thing.

I tried a manual lower and raise roof but now the catches on the boot near the rear window wont catch causing a constant beeping. I had to force the latches with a screwdriver to get them to catch to stop beeping but they can still just be pulled out. I tried the forced electrical close too but does nothing

anyone any ideas how to get them to lock and also get this dam roof working.

Note: when I got this car previous owner said that she was told roof fault was down to a window not closing fully but the windows are all fine.

thanks

Very hard to say, but my guess is mechanical alignment. If you are prepared to travel (and pay) I suggest these people.
