Key Circuit board

Post by Donzie »

Hi

I am new to this site so I am sorry if this question has been asked before. I have bought a 206cc for my brother for Christmas and am trying to get it to as tip top condition as I can for the year (2004). The key does not operate the central locking but will open the doors and start the car with the key. I took the key to Timpsons who have said the circuit board has had some water damage so would need a new circuit board ideally. Can anyone point me in the right direction for this without it breaking the bank please? I am in Plymouth.

Many thanks

Have you tried a new battery first?

If you can make sure there isn't any corrosion or furring built up on the board that might offer a short and clean any battery contacts. I've sent keys through the washing machine and all sorts before. They're usually fairly resilient things.

If you do need a fob, quote the last eight of the VIN, and we can look up the Peugeot Part No you need. There are four possibles (all look the same) depending on age of car and whether it has front fogs.

The fob and the car have to be programmed together using Peugeot Planet 2000.

Used fobs cannot be repurposed.
