Why can we find out what engine number we have? We have a 1.6 allure. And there's two different cam belts kits on Euro with different engine numbers and different amount of tooths.
Also do you need to lock the crank shaft or lock from the cams?
Thanks

Re: Cam belt question
You can find out all the details of your car from the last eight characters of the VIN in Peugeot Service Box. If you don't have access to it, post them and i'll look it up. You can also get the correct part number for the belt from it.
Having said that, the engine number is on the V5 ("logbook").
The answer about pegging is both. See http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/repair-206/ mechanical/engine/timing.

Re: Cam belt question
Engine Serial No 10 FX5N 2363516. Engine Type TU5JP4
Cambelt Part No 0816 H6
However, it is highly advisable to replace the tension roller and idler roller at the same time. The Peugeot kit for all 3 is 0831 R9.
Also, because all the work to gain access will have already been done, it would be best to replace the water pump as well - 1201 E5.
