Hi all
Went to start car at work yesterday (pug 206 1.9 d 2000 non turbo )at work lights all came on dash as normal and just before I went to start vehicle dash went dead.checked fuses and 50 amp ignition supply fuse had blown which I was replaced then blew again.Breakdown turned up and fitted 60 amp and vehicle turned over as normal but wouldn't fire and no fuel coming through .How likely is it that the blown fuse has immobilised vehicle or does ignition control unit switch at back of key barrel affecting this.Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers Rob

Re: Blown ingnition supply fuse
As you say the fault occurred before you tried to start, we can rule out the starter current as the cause. Blowing a 50A fuse suggests a short circuit, such as water and/or corrosion crud in one of the fuseboxes, or damaged wiring insulation shorting to earth.
Assuming you have checked all the other fuses, and none of those were blown, it is logical that the fault is between the superfuse and the smaller fuses, mostly in the BSI. That narrows the field down to the engine compartment fusebox, the wiring from it to the ignition switch, the switch itself, the wiring from the switch to the BSI, and the BSI.
