I changed the inlet MAP sensor, £12.99 from Ebay and a 5 minutes job. Early days yet but 4 cold and wet starts later no anti-pollution error.

Still OK with no errors after several more days. Presumably the previous MAP sensor (fitted when the car was new 12 years ago) was giving false readings causing a misfire, this in turn was causing fluctuations in the crankshaft position readings, hence the error codes indicating problems with the crankshaft position sensor.

I brought a Peugeot 207 GT 1.6 petrol, around 2 weeks ago (passed my test 2 days prior to buying the car, so is my first ever car). The day after having the car I was driving and slowed down to pull into a garage where it became very stuttery and showed the anti pollution error and eventually cut out. With advice, my step dad put a bottle of redex in and drove it home for me - the car drove fine. The next day the same problem occurred. I've since had the codes read and it came back with six faults. The garage cleared the faults and the car was fine driving home. Took the car out again a little while later and the same problem again. I took the car back to the garage and they read the new codes and advised I had a fault in cylinder 1 & 3 and they changed 2 coil packs. The car was fine for the first half of the 20 min drive home, and the problem started again. Took the car back for the third time and after research in the forums I advised them to check/replace my crank sensor the car was fine after that for 1 and a half days! The error message and stuttering has again started! I've read all sorts of things and already spent £220 trying to resolve it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any advice will be really appreciated.. It's my first car and was brought from a private seller.. Seemingly genuine and the car drove perfectly fine on the test drive with no visible faults

65000 miles I don't know the code numbers, the garage never told me, just cleared them the first time and the second time said it was to do with the cylinders and the third time they said it was the same however we advised them to changed the crank sensor. I've got a partial service history for the car to. My step father will plug in to it after work and I will send you the codes from that.
