Fuel consumption info and more

Post by Gfinalo »

Greetings,

Just got my first Peugeot 206CC 2005year, and was scrolling it's manual that i've found on the internet.
Found that on display there is an opportunity to see fuel consumption, and some other information by pressing button on the end of wash/wipe stalk.

I've noticed that i have this button too, but it seems it is not working, i mean when i push it it pushes just very slightly inside and seems broken. And all i can see on my display on the third line is only current date and temperature

My question is, if there is any other way to see fuel consumption or my car doesn't have this option, or i should go to car service and ask to fix that button?

The only way to access the data whilst driving is to get the unit repaired. It may also be possible to access the data using Peugeot Planet 2000 with a laptop and the Lexia hardware interface.

The only replacement part offered by Peugeot is the complete stalk unit (known as the Comm 2000), which will be expensive. You could get just the stalk from a scrapped car, perhaps on EBay, but it must be compatible.

Not quite true.

Get a OBD2 bluetooth such as This ( I know it works in CC. Link that to one of the OBD2 apps available for a smart phone, think I used CaroO Pro (Dashcam & OBD) or Torque.
That will give you MPG info not only for current but also over time.

This is the working set up I used in mine.

I didn't know that was possible - I suppose I tend to discount OBD2 because it doesn't do everything on a Peugeot.

Don't get caught for using the phone whilst driving!

The com as suggested above has probably been replaced in the past for one without the fuel computer button on the end, not all of them have this especially the smaller engine cars.

If you attempt to replace it be very careful when you take off the steering wheel air bag, its fly leads and the clock spring inside the dial are super fragile after years of sunshine belting down on it.

Contrary to what most people say or think OBDII does most things on a peugeot that it can do on any other car, its just with lexia you can manipulate everything and access other ecu's like the air bag, roof and abs directly that hide behind the BSI.

Don't expect that everyone know's everything. But you certainly know your CC stuff. :love-thx:

All I did was mount my phone in a dash mount with it set on the OBD2 display. No law against that one

That's because no Peugeot 206 is OBD2 .. The later ones are EOBD which is close "but it's not Carling"

Earlier ones are a Peugeot bodge before the EU changes the rules.
