Is it the neighbours 206cc you are trying to start instead?

It`s an 02 plate 1.6,manual, we bought the car on Saturday, it started first time we drove it home with no problems, went to start it Sunday and it won`t go, turns over ok just wont start, we are using the passenger door to get in and out of the car would this affect the immobiliser in anyway. we did use jump leads too, did the same turns over but that's it many thanks Kevin

The door is not an issue.

Does it have enough fuel?

Passenger door? Have you got lock issues, in which case are you using the same key as the one you drove home with? Do you have another key to try? Do you have any warning lights on dash?

If you bought it from a trader, I would speak to them first

I reversed it into the drive with the drivers door about 2 inches from a wall so can`t open it, theres no probs with locks they all work fine, no warning lights on dash, as I said it started and drove with no problems at all. Thanks. Kevin P.S. one thing I have noticed is when I turn the ignition on, economy mode comes up

Why was the jump leads used, is the battery going flat? Is the key fob working? You need to give details in order to eliminate possible causes.

Mileage? Service history?
Is it overdue a service or cambelt?

What about the key question I asked earlier?
Cheers Col.

Only have one key, it works fine, doors unlock and lock ok, Immobiliser flashes on the dashboard she just wont start, I just don`t understand :-( tried to bump start it last night, just will not start. Also charged the battery overnight as it was going flat due to keep turning the engine over, still nothing

if the immobiliser light is on you won't bump start it .. it stops fuel and sparks ..

You haven't opened the key and lost the immobiliser chip?

The immobiliser light flashes when the ignition is switched off and the doors are locked as it should, I put the key in and turned the ignition on then tried to bump start it in 2nd gear, no luck

The battery is now flat then as you tried to bump it I guess, else it would be pointless.

I dont think from your replies that we can help you. I think you need someone with a little mechanical experience to be asking for guidance.

Tenpole, we are being drip fed the info and it's getting painful. I ask these questions to gain a picture of what may be wrong, such as an overdue cambelt may have slipped a tooth. Had to ask about key twice (poss transponder prob) and still no answer about servicing, cambelt or idea of mileage.
Oh well.

Exactly, and before too long the technical tasks we would have asked I think would be beyond his experience and ability.
