How to open door when battery dead?

Post by bripat38 »

My daughter hasn't used her 206cc for several months. When I try to open the door, the unlock mechanism works OK but the window does not descend the necessary few millimetres to allow opening of the door. I guess the battery is totally dead so the window motor doesn't move. Any suggestions on how to get in the car?

My battery was dead, the window didn't drop with the key being turned, but I can still open the door

Thanks for the quick response folks. Looks like I'm getting mixed up with the rear door of the Freelander I used to own. So I guess the door is simply stuck to the rubber joint. I'll try to pry it open next time I visit my daughter.
