First of all i maynot post much here, if anything as i know naff all about car but i love reading the post's here. But i was wondering if you guy's could help.
My 206 wouldn't start. It just turned over, recovery came out and took me to a independent garage. They checked/looked it over and found nothing. They got a auto technician to come out & he thought it was the ecu & bsi. That was sent off and they found a brittle wire, so that was replaced. Now the units are back in the car & it still won't start. It's still won't start and just showing eco! Can anyone one help as i really can't afford to buy a new car. My car is nearly 10yr old, 05 reg, 68000-ish mile on clock, well looked after. But i need a car to help with my disabled wife.

Re: Eco Mode...........HELP
where are you? your best bet is the aa/rac as they will be able to diagnose it
eco mode is the cars way of shutting down non critical systems to preserve battery life so the car will start, as soon as its running, the eco mode will go away this isn't a fault its deliberate (and annoying at times)

RAC diagnosed the coil as being knackered. Took it to the garage & it was infact the ecu. The ecu was sent away to be virginised but when the garage got it back, the car still wouldn't start. They had the car took to a auto technician, who said it was a relay in the ecu. He got a new ecu, wiring kit, keys(&anything else i've missed out here lol) fitted that today & it starts. I pick the car up tomorrow as i was 12hr day shift today. Neither me, the RAC, garage or the auto technician could get the car to start until ecu was replaced.

No worries the aa or rac are the best bet for a proper diagnosis as they have the best gear, diag equipment and information availble to them, including immobiliser codes (something a garage certainly wont). Worth it in diagnosis alone let alone recovery for the cost of independant diagnosis alone
